LNMS Athletics is a force to be reckoned with!!!
Last year we won 4 Championship banners!! This makes a total of 29 Championship banners in 6 years!!
Volleyball
Girls went undefeated in regular season winning the Division Championship
Boys made it to final 4 in Orange County and were Runner-Up Division Champions
Soccer
Boys were 2nd place in OCPS
Basketball- This season just started but last year’s results:
Girls made it to final 4 in Orange County & were Runner-up Division Champions
Track- last year’s results:
Girls & Boys overall Runner-Up Team County Champions
Boys won Division Championship
Special Olympics
Unified Knights participated in the State tournament for 3 sports! Volleyball, bowling and basketball! The State tournament for volleyball was held at Disney’s Wide World of Sports, Bowling at the Florida Mall and basketball in Tavares, FL!!
Performing Arts Accomplishments for 2016-2017 Chorus & Piano
Since the opening of LNMS in 2008, our Choir program has grown from 120 to over 400 students. Boys Choir alone consists of 110 members!
Participated in the 2017 All State Choir, All County Choir, and national American Choral Directors Association Honors Choirs in Minneapolis, MN
Advanced Choir has been selected to perform at Florida State University and Kennesaw State University this year
Sixth grade choir members have the opportunity to join the CAROLERS troupe. The CAROLERS spread holiday cheer through fieldtrips around the community at locations such as Nemours Children’s Hospital, the Veterans Assisted Living Center, and more!
Band
Since the opening of LNMS in 2008, our band program has grown to over 400 students!

8 students selected to perform with the OCPS All-County Honor Band
147 students preparing to perform at Solo and Ensemble
Consistent high ratings at our Music Performance Assessment
Many community performances and trips!
Orchestra
2 students participated in All State Orchestra
6 students were part of the OCPS All County Symphony Orchestra
3 students were part of the 2016 OCPS All County Honors Orchestra
40 of our students participated in Florida Orchestra Association Solo and Ensemble. Of those students, 35 received superior ratings and 5 excellent ratings
Last year our Advanced Orchestra received straight Superior assessments at MPA. MPA this year is February 27, 2017

Record breaking year for LNMS Theater Department!
LNMS Troupe had 16 superior scores, 9 excellent scores & 1 Best in Show
Sam Batlemento scored a perfect score with his costume design and presentation about Peter Pan
Diana Mukoie-Carcamo won Best in Show with her solo performance of Sister Act
Our single ACT Mid-Summer scored straight superiors
Qualified the maximum amount of kids for State!
Accomplishments for 2016-2017
National Junior French Honor Society (NJFHS) Established this year! We are the 1st middle school in OCPS to have a NJFHS (Les
Jeunes Amis du Francais). Our chapter name is Voltaire. All students have a 3.5 or higher GPA in French an minimum 3.0 cum GPA.
6th grade LNMS Math Department Had the highest FSA scores amongst all OCPS traditional schools and 3rd in the county
overall behind the Science Charter School and Arbor Ridge
Kiwanis Builders Club Coordinates Pasta for Pennies. Last year NJHS raised almost $4000 for this
cause.
Knight Writers This Writing Club is publishing their 2nd book of short stories and poems this
spring. Students also created artwork or the book.

AP Spanish/ESOL/World Languages Multicultural Night Celebration on December 15, 2016

The purpose of SAC is to assist in the preparation, implementation, and evaluation of the school improvement plan required pursuant to Florida Law. It shall perform such functions as are prescribed by the regulations of the school board; however, it shall not have any of the powers and duties reserved by the law to the school board.
Duties: 1- Advise in developing the school's vision 2- Use state and district goals as a guide for assessing the school's needs 3- Establish the goals of the school based on appropriate needs, assessments, and other data 4- Develop measurable objectives and strategies for addressing the goals that have been identified 5- Identify the appropriate use of school improvement dollars 6- Shall assist the principal in preparation of the school's annual budget
Election:
2017-18 SAC election notice will be sent out in April. In August, the election will occur for the SAC officers as well as council members. If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact me at [email protected].

After School All Stars
The All-Stars Program is a before-school and after-school program that is offered by the City of Orlando.
This program goes from Monday though Friday starting at 7:30 – 9:30 am and then at 3:50 – 6:00 pm. (**Pickup Important**)
The program is free but we ask for a $20.00/semester donation for supplies and in-program activities.
During the afternoon, students have Homework Time Outside Time Many Activities, which include, but not limited to…
- Tutoring in Core Subjects - Board/Table Games - Cosmetology /Girls Club - Creative Club - Cooking Club -Organized Athletic/Sports Leagues -Orlando Science Center- Sponsored Science Club
Summer Camp
Camp closed the week of July 4th
Incoming 6th, 7th and 8th graders can join program only. Only 150 campers allowed. First
come first serve.
Registration Fee is $35 (one time)
Weekly camp fee depends on current lunch price
$48/week- Regular lunch
$40/week- Reduced lunch
Fees include breakfast and cold lunch each day
Summer Camp includes field trips to Disney, Universal and Sea World
Applications will be accepted at Lake Nona MS Cafeteria from March 30th until the last
day of school.
Afternoon: Games, Sports, Clubs (Clubs include cooking, acting, fitness, art)
Baseball, Soccer and Volleyball Leagues (uniforms and transportation included)
