Welcome to the 47th Annual Meridian Ball!Thank you for joining us this evening. On behalf of the Board of Trustees and Staff of Meridian International Center, we are pleased to welcome you to this celebration of Meridian’s work in advancing effective global leadership around the world.

Each year, through innovative exchange, education, and policy programs, Meridian impacts more than 3,500 leaders in 180 countries. For over a half-century, Meridian has successfully prepared public and private sector leaders to meet the challenges of a dynamic and competitive global market. As the lead partner of the U.S. Department of State’s International Visitor Leadership Program, more than 69,000 government officials, diplomats, and executives have come through our doors, including 4 Nobel Prize Winners and 168 Heads of State. We could not have achieved this without your support, and for this, we are extremely grateful.

Meridian CouncilsTHE MERIDIAN NATIONAL ARTS COUNCIL

The Meridian National Arts Council forms a select group of influential leaders from around the country who are well-versed in world affairs and recognize the importance of cultural diplomacy. In addition to interacting with Meridian leadership through the Council’s private activities, members may also attend many of Meridian’s strategic programs and events, where they have opportunities to converse with the organization’s alumni network, corporate representatives, government officials, and the international diplomatic corps.

THE COUNCIL ON WOMEN’S LEADERSHIP (CWL)The Council on Women’s Leadership (CWL) is a platform to engage members and stakeholders with Meridian’s extensive network of global leaders on women’s leadership and empowerment. Complementing Meridian’s 50-plus year history of engagement with thousands of U.S. and foreign visitors, the Council provides year-round opportunities to interact with the diplomatic, corporate, policy-making, and cultural communities in Washington and around the world, through networking, programs, discussions, and special events.
