- PRESS RELEASE - Syntigo and Samsung SDS sign a cooperation agreement - Development of a Europe-Asia strategic axis in the field of rail ticketing - Technological and cultural complementarity between the two partners Brussels, Seoul, 17 October 2011 Syntigo, a subsidiary of SNCB- Holding, and Samsung SDS, a subsidiary of the Samsung group and a global supplier of ICT services, have today signed a Memorandum of Understanding in the presence of the Belgian ambassador to Seoul, His Excellency Pierre Dubuisson. This strategic agreement concerns the development of commercial opportunities and joint participation in rail projects in four strategic markets: Asia, Europe, Africa and America. Within the framework of invitations to tender and international projects, Syntigo will make use of its software expertise in relation to reservation and distribution platforms (for standard and high-speed trains) and ticketing platforms, while Samsung SDS will be responsible for the ticket sales equipment (ticket machines) and the security gates. Syntigo's knowledge and commercial presence in the European and African markets should benefit Samsung, while Samsung should be able to open doors to the Asian and American markets for Syntigo. The creation of this Europe-Asia axis is an answer to the globalisation of rail projects,” explains Baudouin de Hemptinne, Head of Trade Office Wallonia Brussels, who facilitated the contacts between Syntigo and Samsung SDS in South Korea. “We had to ensure a good fit between both partners and overcome the many barriers to enter South Korea, such as language, cultural codes or distance. Brussels, Seoul, 17 October 2011 – Syntigo, a subsidiary of SNCB-

Holding, and Samsung SDS, a subsidiary of the Samsung group and a global supplier of ICT services, have today signed a Memorandum of Understanding in the presence of the Belgian
