Welcome to the 2018 school year. A special welcome to our new families and in particular to our new Prep students who are starting their learning journey at Mount Waverley North Primary School. We look forward to working with all of you throughout the year to ensure your child’s academic and social development thrives. Our door is always open to discuss any issues you have, and you can always catch us in the yard before or after school. We have enjoyed a smooth start to the school year due to our teachers working very hard over the last few weeks; creating stimulating learning environments, planning for the terms to come and developing explicit and engaging learning tasks for your children so that they can achieve their personal best throughout the year. Please take the opportunity to visit your child’s classroom to meet their teacher and see their classroom at the start of the year. We welcome our new staff to Mount Waverley North: Megan Corcoran, Tara King and Ellie Campbell, as well as our returning members of staff: Emily Clugg and Todd Klein. We are delighted to have them join our existing dedicated teaching team. School Times It has been fantastic to see most children arrive at school by 8.50am ready to enter the classroom with their teacher when the 8.50am bell rings. This has allowed teaching instruction to begin at 9am, as it will do every day. Any arrival after 9am requires sign-in at the School Office by a parent/guardian. All absences must be reported to school on the day of the absence, before 9am, verbally or in writing by a parent/guardian.
