2. Finley was excited. She was at the fair with her mom and dad. As Finley waited for her dad to buy some tickets for the rides, she saw that there were four people waiting in line. How many people do you count? Write the number in your journal. 2 3. Put these 4 people in a line. Draw a line in your journal. Draw 4 people on that line. 3 4. Finley saw the long line of tickets her dad had bought. She counted seven tickets. How many tickets do you count? Write the number in your journal. 4 5. There are 8 tickets. Put 7 tickets in a line. In your journal, draw a line. Draw 7 tickets on the line. 5 6. The first ride Finley saw was the Ferris Wheel. Finley saw that it looked like a circle. Do you see the circle? She saw that it had twelve seats all around the circle. How many seats do you count? In your journal, draw a Ferris wheel with 12 seats. 6 7. Finley saw another Ferris wheel at the fair. She counted six seats in the circle. How many seats do you count? Why do you think this Ferris wheel has less seats than the other Ferris wheel? Talk it over with your partner. Write or draw your answer in your journal. In your journal, draw a Ferris wheel with 6 seats. 7 8. Finley wanted to ride the bumper cars, but she saw that there was a line of people waiting to ride. She counted ten people in line. How many people do you count in line? Write the number in your journal. 8 9. Finley then counted ten bumper cars that were scattered across the floor. How many bumper cars do you count? Write the number in your journal. 9 10. There are 10 people in line. There are 10 bumper cars. Are these numbers the same? Are the number of bumper cars and the number of people in line the same? Are there enough bumper cars for each of the people in line? Write the answers to the questions in your journal. 10 11. Finley wanted to play Pop the Balloon. She saw the balloon board was shaped like a rectangle. Do you see the rectangle? She counted 18 balloons on the board. How many balloons do you count? Write the number in your journal. Draw 18 balloons in your journal. 11 12. Finley then played the Duck Pond game. She saw that there were eight ducks in the pond. How many ducks do you see in the pond? Write the number in your journal. She picked two ducks to see if the numbers on their bottoms matched. The first duck had the number 9, and the second duck had the number 9. Are these numbers the same? Write the number 9 in your journal. 12 13. Finley went to the prize booth to pick out her prizes. The prizes were in rows that looked like a rectangle. Do you see the rectangle? She counted 15 prizes in the rectangle. How many prizes do you count? Write the number in your journal. Pick out 2 prizes and draw them in your journal. 13 14. It was the end of the day, and time to go home. Finley smiled proudly as she held on tight to the prizes she had won.
