1. Joyce ParkOutremont is renowned for its lovely parks. Joyce is one of the larger ones, but it still provides a bit of respite near the western-most end of the bustling avenue. It also has three tennis courts and a kids’ playground.

2. Le Glacier BilboquetThough this ice cream brand is practi-cally a Montreal-wide household name, it all started here on Bernard. Known for its especially creamy iced treats and fruity sorbets, people have been lining up for Bilboquet since 1983.

3. Les Enfants TerriblesBefore finding its perch atop Place Ville-Marie, the Les Enfants Terribles franchise got its start on Bernard Ave. in 2008. The brasserie is known for putting its own spin on classic Québécois dishes like paté chinois and pouding chômeur.

4. Outremont TheatreWhen it first opened in 1929, the Out-remont Theatre was one of the city’s first cinemas. Today, the Art Deco building hosts countless music shows, dance perfor-mances, theatre, and any other type of entertainment that can fit into the Grande Salle (with a capacity for 775 people) or the more intimate 115-seater, Petit Outremont.

5. Place Marcelle-Ferron This public plaza isn’t just a picturesque spot from which to sit and contemplate the surrounding loveliness. It also hosts many community events throughout the year, attracting every type of Outremont dweller. Sculptures, paintings, and other installations made by local artists are often on display.

6. Lester’s Deli You’re either Team Schwartz’s or Team Lester’s. There’s rarely an in-between on the issue. Regardless of where you stand, Les-ter’s has been giving people their smoked meat fix for about 60 years, with a side of huge homemade pickles.

7. Laurier AvenueLaurier West has carved a high-end shopping niche for itself, to the delight of those who’d rather not go as far as downtown to find a designer LBD. Current renovations on the street are slated to wrap up in fall 2018.
