The University emblem of VEER NARMAD SOUTH GUJARAT UNIVERSITY presents a

circular crest with a spiral of a six pointed star enclosed within a symbol of the sun. The

triple imaged emblem framed by the name of the University in Gujarati on the rim of the

left third; in English on the right third, and the motto of the University in Sanskrit on the

This is the second and most important phase of the Civil Service Examination in which thecandidates are admitted after passing the Preliminary examination. About 15k-16kcandidates are filtered for writing the main examination from the total appearing inpreliminary exam. The questions asked in the main examination are subjective in nature.The subjects covered in main examination consist of four GS papers, one paper on Essaywriting, two papers - ONE optional subject chosen and two are compulsory language papers(one is English language and other one the Indian language mentioned in 8th schedule of theConstitution). In the main examination a descriptive answer is expected in organizedmanner.

Admission Process: Admissions shall be

granted to all eligible candidates according to

the merit list prepared on the basis of the score of

the "Entrance Test and Personal Interview" in

case number of applications exceeds the intake.

The date, time, and venue of the "Entrance Test"

shall be notified to the candidates through SMS

on their mobile phones.

Fee Structure: The fees as decided by the University is Rs. 11000/- for the whole course.

The fees once paid shall not be refunded under any circumstances.

Who can apply for the course: Candidates Preparing for the UPSC/GPSC Civil Service Examination.

NET /SLET PROGRAMME

We at M.L. Kakadia Bhavan offer training Programme for the Candidates who are preparing

for National Eligibility Test/ State Level Eligibility Test.

UGC-NET is a test to determine the eligibility of Indian nationals for 'Assistant Professor' and

'Junior Research Fellowship and Assistant Professor' in Indian universities and colleges.

National Testing Agency (NTA) is conducting the UGC NET exam. It is conducted twice in a

year in the month of June and December. Examination is conducted in Computer Based Test

Mode only. We prepare students only for Paper I which is common for all students who

are writing NET/SLET exam.

For Officers Training Academy (OTA) OTA there are two sections in the written exam i.e. English and GeneralKnowledge.

** Indian Military Academy (IMA), Indian Naval Academy (INA), Air Force Academy (AFA) and OfficersTraining Academy (OTA).

"Combined Defence Services (CDS) exams conducted by UPSC twice a year. It is an entranceexam for the Indian Military Academy (IMA), Indian Naval Academy (INA), Air Force Academy(AFA) and Officers" Training Academy (OTA) after graduation. The entrance exam is acombination of three subjects English, General Knowledge and Elementary Mathematics.

COMBINED DEFENCE SERVICES

Pattern of Examination:

· The question paper in the written exam is objective type only. · For mathematics, the standard of questions asked of 10th level whereas for other subjects the standard of the paper will be of graduation level.· The question paper of General knowledge and Elementary Mathematics are set bilingually as well as English

Admissions shall be granted to all eligible candidates according to the merit list prepared on the basis of the score of the

"Entrance Test and Personal Interview" in case number of applications exceeds the intake. The date, time, and venue of

the "Entrance Test" shall be notified to the candidates through SMS on their mobile phones.

Eligibility Criteria :

General category candidates who have secured at least 55% marks (50% for SC / ST) in Post Graduate Degree in any

discipline recognized by the UGC.

Who can apply for the course:

Candidates Preparing for the NET/SLET.

Fee Structure :

The fees as decided by the University is Rs. 12000/- for the whole course.

The Services Selection Board procedure consists of two stage Selection process - stage I and stage II. Only

those candidates who clear the stage I are permitted to appear for stage II. The details are:

(A) Stage I comprises of Officer Intelligence Rating (OIR) tests are Picture Perception* Description Test

(PP&DT). The candidates will be shortlisted based on combination of performance in OIR Test and PP&DT.

(B) Stage II Comprises of Interview, Group Testing Officer Tasks, Psychology Tests and the Conference.

These tests are conducted over 4 days. The details of these tests are given on the website

www.joinindianarmy.nic.in.

The personality of a candidate is assessed by three different assessors viz. The Interviewing Officer (IO),

Group Testing Officer (GTO) and the Psychologist. There are no separate weightage for each test. The

marks are allotted by assessors only after taking into consideration the performance of the candidate

holistically in all the test. In addition, marks for Conference are also allotted based on the initial performance

of the Candidate in the three techniques and decision of the Board. All these have equal weightage.

The various tests of IO, GTO and Psych are designed to bring out the presence/absence of Officer Like Qualities

and their trainability in a candidate. Accordingly candidates are Recommended or Not Recommended at the SSB.

For I.M.A. and Officers' Training Academy -

The candidate should have a graduation degree (any subject) from a recognized University or equivalent.

For Indian Naval Academy

The candidate should have completed their Graduation in Engineering from a recognized University/Institution.

For Air Force Academy

The candidate should hold a bachelor's degree from a recognized University

(with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level) or Bachelor of Engineering.
