My brother, Tony, is having a great Ɵme telling people the story about my motorcycle wreck. His favorite part is that while siƫng in my emergency room bed, I realized that word about my accident was geƫng out on social media so I quickly texted my family to let them know I’d broken some bones and injured some joints but that I was going to be okay. I ended the text with, “DON’T TELL MOM!” He laughs so hard that a 48 year old Army colonel and lead pastor would sƟll be so concerned about what his mother thinks! In my defense, I simply did not want my mom to have to worry about something she already does not want me doing – riding a motorcycle! She sƟll doesn’t know so please don’t tell her! Our moms will always be our moms, no maƩer how old we get! I’ll always be my mom’s baby boy, and I want to honor that. I want to honor her and bless her in her old age. Mother’s Day is a great opportunity to honor our moms. I won’t get to be with my mother that day, so we are going to LiƩle Rock to visit her Thursday evening. Whether our mothers are sƟll alive on earth or not, we can honor them this Sunday by giving thanks for them, by remembering them, and by celebraƟng them for their part in giving us the giŌ of life. How will you bless and honor the mothers in your life this Sunday? Let’s spend some Ɵme doing that together at Heritage! So blessed to be your lead pastor! HALO REPORT APRIL 27

The Men played two Monday night. The first game we played against, The Current. Game two was against Central Christian of Fort Smith. Excuse the pun, but the Halos started this trip as if they were floating downstream with the current as our heroes came out slugging the ball plating 7 runs in the first, 5 in the second and 6 in the third inning. Meanwhile the Current’s bats were cooled by the slow, cool, Barry White-esque pitch stylings of Mike Kneeland. The Current didn’t get into the groove until the fourth inning following the right, Reverend Kevin Hardcastle’s rally stopping defensive play. K. Hardcastle ran down a hard hit fly to the fence and snagged it saving at least two more runs from scoring in the top of the Halo half. Legend has it he jumped plum near ten feet high to snag that ball. First man up in next inning, Mr. Hardcastle showed his lets have fun competitive edge as he launched a rocket shot over the right field fence. As far as anyone knows that ball landed near Kibler Road. Others say it was filled with the Holy Spirit and hasn’t landed yet. When it does it will start a revival. It did sort of start a rally for the Current players as they scored a bunch or runs that inning. The following at bat for the Halos the right Reverend logged all three outs in the field against the fence in deep left-center. The Current rallied and made it close until the Halos hit a barrage of 4 dingers in the 6th innings pulling away far enough to win. Game two the Halos hit fewer homeruns, but strung together several hits in different innings piling up enough runs to stay ahead of Central Christian. This game highlighted Halo team speed both on offense and on defense. Andrew Elkins, Jason Lolley, Jason Bonner, Marshall Newby, Brian Curd, Justin Goins and Tyler Goodnight flew around the bases scoring runs and covered the ground on defense to stifle would-be Centrals rallies. Kevin Lea, Nick Holman moved around the bags well enough, but may need time in the Jacuzzi. Halo report April 30….Our Co-ed team split two with A to Z and First Baptist Kibler Blue. Game one Our Co-ed team matched runs with Kibler thanks to homerun power by Donnie Ostrander and Ryan Breeze. Shannon Morrow was solid as our lead-off batter and solid on defense in left field. Erin Ragland had three hits, while Angie Rushing kept a high on-base percentage and Katie Smith got two RBI’s on her first hit. Tracy Ostrander filled the third spot in the line-up with clutch hitting, while Donnie cleaned the bases three times to keep the Halos in the lead. Halos prevailed grabbing their first win of the season. Game two AtoZ hit well and kept on hitting. Our halos stayed up for a little while, until a couple of innings with some bad bounces, a handful of errors combined with timely hitting by A to Z. Good play wasn’t enough to catch up and our Halos lost the second game. Co-ed plays May 7th at 7:30 and 8:30 Men play May 12th at 6:30 and 8:30.
