3. Approval of the Diploma course and examination in Pharmacy conducted at Rajiv Memorial Education Society’s College of Pharmacy, Balaji Nagar,

Old Jewargi Road, Distt. Gulbarga – 585 102 (Karnataka) in the light of 5th Inspection Report (January & February, 2014 )

3.1 The latest information on record was placed.

3.2 It was noted that -

a) institution was approved upto 2014-2015 academic session for 60 admissions only.

b) the institution made 40 excess admissions during 2013-2014 academic session in total dis-regard to the approved intake by PCI u/s 12 of the

Pharmacy Act.

3.3 In view of above, it was decided to -

a) clarify the institution that PCI does not consider approval above 60 in D.Pharm course.

b) instruct the institution to submit duly attested affidavit indicating –

i) as to how 40 excess admissions made during 2013-2014 academic session will be neutralized in coming 3 future academic sessions i.e. during

2015-2016, 2016-2017 and 2017-2018 academic sessions by reducing the intake within the sanctioned intake of 60.

ii) institution will not admit students over & above the sanctioned intake by PCI in future.

iii) in case institution fails to comply with Council’s policy, consequences thereof shall rest on the institution.

29.3 It was further decided to instruct the institution -

which the institution can make further admission/no admission. When the students are in the final year B.Pharm an inspection will be conducted by

i) that every year it has to apply to PCI in the SIF for the conduct of early inspection for year-wise approval for conduct of course or otherwise on the

basis of which the institution can make further admission/no admission. When the students are in the final year Pharm.D/Pharm.D (Post

Baccalaureate), an inspection will be conducted by PCI for consideration of approval u/s 12 of the Pharmacy Act for the purpose of registration as

pharmacist. It is the responsibility of the institution to apply in the prescribed SIF to PCI before due date.

ii) to comply with the requirements of Pharm.D. Regulations, 2008 particularly regarding appointment of teaching staff, equipments and Hospital

facility.

142.4 Further the PCI recommends that Pharmacy Practice Faculty including HOD shall undergo at least 1 Continuing Education Programme / Training

Programme of minimum 3 days duration every year and participation in atleast one seminar/conference every year.

142.5 In view of above, please intimate per return of mail the number of such Continuing Education Programmes / Training Programmes / Seminar /

Conference etc. attended by HOD and pharmacy practice faculty during the last one year with documentary evidence i.e. participation certificate etc.

142.6 It was further decided to instruct the institution to submit full compliance of the Pharm.D Regulations, 2008 as per following details:-

229.4 In view of above, it was decided to -

a) insist for rectification of the deficiencies pointed out in inspection report (July,2014) particularly with regard to -

i) appointment of required number of teaching faculty with requisite qualification and teaching experience and submission of SDF in respect of all

teaching staff.

ii) procurement of equipments in Pharmaceutical Bio Tech Lab and submission of bills.

b) ask the institution to submit affiliation of the examining authority for 100 seats in B.Pharm Course.

229.5 It was further decided to take action in anticipation of approval of minutes from the Hon’ble President.

Karimnagar.

b) further institution changed the said hospital and signed MOU with CAIMS.

236.2 The matter was further placed in 257th EC (July, 2014) which decided as under -

a) ask the institution to submit inspection fee.

b) inspect CAIMS.

c) instruct the institution not to make admissions for 2014-2015 academic session.

236.3 Accordingly, PCI inspected CAIMS on 13th and 14

th August, 2014. As per the inspection report Vaageswari College of Pharmacy has MOU with

CAIMS.

236.4 Now CAIMS hospital vide letter dt.16.8.2014 has intimated the PCI that the hospital -

a) has decided to grant MOU to Sree Chaitanya Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Karimnagar..

b) cancelled MOU with Vaageswari College of Pharmacy, Karimnagar.

236.5 In view of above, it was decided to seek clarification from the institution regarding MOU with the hospital. In case the institution continues the MOU

with Siva Rama Hospital and submits MOU, the approval granted by 95th

CC (May, 2014) under Item No.355 be reiterated.
