System SoftwareThe Telematics and Multimedia Test Platform uses Mindready's code library of proven test cases, drivers and communications protocols developed using National Instruments LabWindows/CVITM, LabVIEWTM and TestStandTM on the Microsoft Windows NT/2000TM operating system.

Mindready’s Telematics and Multimedia Test Platform offers an open architecture solution, flexible enough to meet the needs of both the product designer and the manufacturing test engineer. Built on industry standard software for continued support and enhancement, this solution is customizable and scalable. In the design lab, a pre-DV (Design Verification) tester -- a small bench top system used by designers to run more tests rapidly and for long durations prior to full DV testing -- accelerates product stability. Using the same system architecture, core components, and code libraries to migrate the pre-DV tester to a full production tester and an end-of-line tester maintains a high ROI.

System Components

PXI ChassisThe embedded PXI computer has the Windows NT/2000TM operating system and uses the National Instruments TestStand test executive to control the system. A 5 ½ Digit Multimeter in used as a measuring device for DC voltage, DC current, and resistance. The Digital Signal Analyzer (DSA) measures the audio output of the speakers. The RF Mux provides switching from the RF Generator to the multiple antenna ports of the UUT. The Analog Output card provides the necessary analog signals for audio and PWM inputs. The IEEE-1394 card is included for future expansion of the system, and can be used to interface to a camera for vision tests The PXI Digital I/O controls the load card located in the Single Unit Interface Station.

AM/FM Stereo GeneratorThe AM/FM Stereo Generator modulates the analog output (audio simulation) with user configurable RF signals.

Customizable Single Unit Interface StationAn example Single Unit Interface Station features 6 speaker loads (4 standard plus sub woofer and center image) and MIL connectors to interface the test system to the UUT. The load card provides the resistive I/O loads and connections to the DMM. The integrated power supply powers the interfaces backplane. The Single Unit Interface includes either a Netway or ACP NAT communications box.

Power SupplyThe GPIB-controlled power supply provides power to the UUT and stimulus voltage for the load card in the Single Unit Interface Station.
