SPEAKING & LISTENING:*Students must have ample opportunities to take part in rich, structured conversations (whole class, small group, partner).*Students must present information and findings using digital media and visual displays adjusting to a variety of contexts and communicative tasks.

LANGUAGE: *Students must have a firm control over conventions of standard English.*Students must understand how language functions in different contexts to make effective choices when reading or listening.

VOCABULARY:*Students must have extensive vocabularies for reading, writing, speaking, and listening to be college and career ready.
