The Institution speaks through the news letter and all the activities are let known through this media. I wish all the best on this endeavour. Shri. K. Technology and Management, like most aspects of life, has a history. Since technological progress is fast enough to make today’s innovation obsolete tomorrow, learning from history generally shapes and sharpens management students’ approach towards problems and solutions. As Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam wrote “Dream is not what you see in sleep.     The 10th batch MBA course was inaugurated by Dr. M.C. DileepKumar, Honourable Vice Chancellor of Sanskrit University,Kalady on 13 Aug. 2014The training programme was conducted for S1 MBA A and Bbatch by M/s Sai Consultants from Bangalore. It was a threeday training programme where he focussed on various aspectssuch as Goal Setting, Time Management, Interview techniques,Body Language and Manners and Etiquette. He also conductedvariety of motivational games. There was also an English Com-munication Training Programme by Ms. Mini S. Thomas.

    New Batch 2013-2015Renu K. secured third rankin M.G. University for theMBA course(2012-2014),the results of which werepublished in May 2014.

    She was also awarded the ‘Best OutgoingStudent’ of the 2012-14 batch based on herscholastic achievements. She has sincejoined Federal Bank as a probationaryofficer (campus placement).

    HONOUR

    A Seminar on ‘Managerial Challenges in a Global Environment” was held on Saturday, October 5, 2013, under the aegis ofAAMS (Association of Adi Sankara Management Students). The Chief Guest was Sri. Roshan K. Menon, Sr. Vice Presi-

    dent, Binani Zinc Ltd. who also delivered the keynote address. Mr. Menon elaborated on how today’s management strives toanticipate and respond to the demands and challenges of an ever changing business environment. He touched on a widerange of issues including managing diversity in a global work arena and drew upon examples from his own vast experience.

    Prof. Justin Paul, University of Puerto Rico, USA kick started the activities of Finance Club “ARTHA” with a talk on‘Globalisation and MNEs: Implications for India” . He discussed and focussed on the specific form and extent of globalisation

    for developing countries and the important consequences of government actions. He shared his experiences, views andopinion about the topic. This was followed by Portfolio Management Games conducted by students and the winners weregiven cash prizes.

  • As per the annual tradition,’ ‘Kerala Formation Day’ was celebrated on 01-11-2013 as’ PUNARJINI.’ Noted music director SriVidhyadharan Master was the Chief Guest. He gave a mesmerizing speech on the importance of Malayalam and also recited abeautiful poem which he had composed. Various entertaining programmes were conducted to mark the day.

    Tour

    The HR Club (MANAVA) conducted a seminar on‘Creating an Inclusive Workplace’. Sri RadhakrishnanNair, Chief HR Officer, Federal Bank was the guest ofhonour. He explained how creating an inclusiveworkplace will benefit all employees and will help inattracting and retaining talent and empower theworkforce. The talk was followed by HR games wherestudent participants won cash prizes.

    The batch 2012-14 went on a 3 day fun packed trip to Wayanad and Mysore from Dec. 11th to Dec.14th, 2014. Visits to theChamundi temple, Mysore Palace, river rafting in the Kaveri, Kuruva Island were some of the highlights of the trip.

  • The seniors (2012-14 batch) were given a warm send offby the juniors on April 11, 2014. This was followed by aget together where the seniors shared their experiencesof their two years as MBA students of ASIET. Each seniorstudent was handed over a certificate of remembrancewith signatures of all faculty members. Proficiency awardswere given to Neethu Nandanan (1st.), Mary JessiaJohnson (2nd ) and Shahina T.S.(3rd.)

    “DESPEDIDA 14”

    Batch DayBatch day “ORIOLE” (“Together We Make Everything Beautiful”) was celebrated by S1 MBA 2013-15 batch on February1, 2014. Many cultural programmes were conducted on that day. The main attractions were Group Dance, Skit, Song, Dramaand Mime. Each and every student of S1 MBA participated in various programme and it was an opportunity for the studentsto showcase their skills and talents.

    The students of 2012-14 batch created a shortMalayalam film titled “The Private Number”. NethanP. directed the film and also wrote the screenplay. 15students of the batch donned various roles in the moviewhich was premiered on the last day of the NationalLevel Techno-Cultural Fest ‘Brahma’ on Feb.21st. Themovie has since been uploaded on You Tube(youtube.com/piggumedia).

  • Many of our students have undertaken short term projectsoutside the campus in the areas of services marketing, retailmanagement and environment management. This experiencegave the students hands on feel of challenges of the realworld.

    The second semester students visited KAMCO, Athani(Kerala Agro Machinery Corporation Limited ) on 16 June2014. The students saw the various processes of manufac-ture and were benefited by the exposure to an industrial en-vironment.
