In response to the growing demand in the field of repairing
installation and maintenance of different domestic
appliances and industries, the fitter trade of this institute
has established and affiliated to the NCVT Govt, of India
vide its letter No DGET-6/18/34/2008-TC 14/11/2008.
The laboratory is equipped with all modern machinery
to meet the current demand of modern industries of our
country. Biswakarma ITC’s objective is not only to ensure
a better career but also to identify feasible projects and to
enhance the entrepreneurship spirit, Biswakarma ITC is
going to implement the production-cum-training
programmer under the registration of DIC,Ganjam very
soon, so that practical ability and professional exposure
of the students can be increased, the laboratory not only
satisfies the NCVT fitter syllabus but also meets the
demand of modern and high-tech of industries with all
necessary machineries and instruments. the trainees are
taught about the fundamental principles of fitting, drilling, taping, riveting, making of
nuts and bolts, framing of different sheet metal works, manufacturing of different hand
tools like bench vice, pipe Vice, Divider, scriber, Hammer, DE spanner and adequate
knowledge about handling of lathe machine and fabrication works, etc.
Under craftsmen training scheme the electrician trade was introduced by the Govt.ofIndia in 1950 to ensure steady flow of skilled workers in electrical division for domesticindustries and to raise quantitatively and qualitatively the industrial production byimparting systematic training to educated youth. The electrician trade4 of this instituteis affiliated to NCVT, New Delhi vide its office Letter No DGET-6/18/34/2008-TC 14/11/2008. The Workshop is equipped with all modernmachineries to meet the demands of modern industries inour country and is reckoned as the best and modernworkshop of its kind in Odisha. Moreover along with theexcellent training facilities, BITC has its ownentrepreneurship and training placement division to hopthe trainees to set up their own units and better placement.Besides practical training the institute provides morepractical exposure to trainees by giving them a lot of alliedjobs along NIMI pattern. The trainees are taught about thebasic knowledge of different fundamental units, Housewiring, Transmission and distribution of electrical power,measuring instruments, motors, generators, Alternators,different windings, Earthing, maintenance and installationof different machinery, like Transformer, motor etc onNIMI pattern. Besides these the trainees are being tough theassembling and manufacturing of different electrical domesticappliances like heater, choke, Heating coil, Eliminatorstabilizer, charging light, starter and different electricalexhibits.

established in the year 1998. Before
that Data Preparation and Computer
Software otherwise called as DPCS was
functioned since 1994. COPA is a one year
training course accommodating both boys and girls.
Well qualified and experienced members having
M.Tech., MCA, B.Sc. Computer are posted to handle
the training course.
The COPA Development is fully equipped with latest
Computer systems and required Hardware and
Software materials as per standard list of Tools and
Equipments prescribed for Craftsmen Training
Scheme by National Council for Vocational Training.

Admission
K Application in the prescribed form for ITI course are invited from eligible candidates 20 days from the
date of HSC result / advertisement by the institute every year . The application form for admission can be
obtained from Biswakarma Industrial Training Centre, Alakapuri Ph:- III, Lane-1, Engg. School Rd., Backsite
Govt. I.T.I., Berhampur, Ganjam, Odisha with full address of the candidate.
K Application complete in all respect should be deposited in the institute or before the due date.
Applications received after the due date may not be accepted. Incomplete applications will be rejected by
the Principal without assigning any reason thereof.
K The following documents should be submitted along with the application.
1. Attested copies of all the certificates and HSC mark sheet.
2. Two recent passport size color photographs and five-stamp size color photographs duly attested.
3. Attested copy of caste certificate in case of SC / ST/ OBC candidate.
4. Attested copies of migration certificate in case of candidate from outside of the state.
5. All original certificates along with HSC mark sheet, School / College leaving certificate from the Institute
last attended must be produced at the time of adimission which will be retained in the Institute Office.
6. In addition to above , if any other information required by the Principal ,it should be furnished along with
the application at the time of admission.
7. The admission cannot be claimed as a matter of right and may be refused by the Principal without
assigning any reason thereof.
8. Application form should be submitted along with the money receipt
F Admission is open to the candidates belonging
to all the districts of Odisha and outside the
state residing in Odisha.
F The candidates for training should be between
the age of 14 to 40 year as on 1st August current
year (Staring of Academic Session).
F Additional weightage will be given to the
candidates having higher percentage of marks.
F The candidates selected by the selection
committee of the Institute will be intimated by
post to take admission by due date.
F The trade of their choice can be allotted , subject
to availability of seat in the particular trade and
his aptitude for the same.
F No extension of time can be allowed after the
fixed date of admission.
F Selection of candidates for admission will be made
on merit cum suitability basis after getting
approval from DTE&T, Odisha.
F The entire course fee becomes payable at the time
of admission. Installment may be allowed in special
cases. In this connection post dated cheques have
to submit at the time of admission.
F If the student is allowed to take admission under
installment scheme, he has to clear all the dues on
or before the stipulated date.
F If the student will not clear the dues in time, the
Institute will not be responsible for his registration
in the council.
F If student will leave the Institute for any reason
either immediately after admission or in the middle
of the course etc., the fees paid will be forfeited and
action will be taken to recover the balance dues. In
such cases no fees will be refunded.
F Fees should be paid only at the office cash counter
& receipt must be obtained.
F Fees once paid is not refundable, adjustable under
any circumstances.
The Institute maintains a rigid training standard as prescribed in the Training Manual issued by
DGET, NewDelhi. On obligation to this standard the Institute mention a group of qualified and
experienced instructional staff to impart methodical training to make the trainees fit for employment
in industries and self-employment by availing financial assistance from the Govt.agencies. During the
training period regular monthly tests are conducted. Further since this is a time-bound training
programme , everyday of training activities are considered to be important. Therefore the holidays of
the institute are restricted only to the days declared by the state govt. for better training performance.
A trainee should have not less than 80% attendance which is meticulously followed. The trainee
found irregular in attendance either will be detained in the secures prescribed percentage of
attendance or finally discharged from the institute.
Beside , yearly test is conducted after the 1” year of training for promotion to the second year
class and also at the fag end of 2nd year another sent-up test is conducted in order to enable trainees
to appear at the All India Trade Test (AITT) conducted by NCVT, New Delhi. This reveals our effort to
emphasis on the training activities of students at every step of training carrier. Therefore any trainees
found incorrigible and departed from the rules and regulation of the institute will be concerned as
deem proper.
In case of below average and irregular trainees, the progress and attendance information are
given to the guardians to make such trainees reformative.CU

The institute also arrange study tour pogramme forstudents to visit different industries in order toincalculate the idea of actual working of differentmachines etc. pertaining to their trade.

The Institute has state of the art of computer laboratory.Computer education is compulsory for all trainees.During training period it helps students to equipthemselves effectively in the rapid changing industrialscenario.

Discipline
j The Institute maintains strict discipline and students violating rules are liable for severe disciplinary action. Students
expelled on grounds of indiscipline will not be entitled to any refund of fees and deposits.
j Students are barred from organizing unions or associations within or outside campus.
j Ragging in any form is strictly prohibited. Students found guilty will be subjected to severe punishment including
rustication from the Institute and the matter may be referred to the police (as ragging has been declared a criminal
offence by the Government). The decision of the disciplinary committee is final in this regard.
j Any student responsible for any damage to the Institute building, furniture or equipment will be punished severely and
the amount in lieu of the damage must be paid by the condemned student within a week of the date of the incident.
j Necessary disciplinary action may be taken if the student falls to deposit the fine amount.
j Student found misbehaving with any teaching or non-teaching staff will be punished, which may lead to debarment
from the Institute. The decision of the disciplinary committee is final in this regard. Any complaint by any teaching and
non teaching staff should be intimated in writing to the principal.
j Student are required to watch the notice board of the Institute from time to time, for up to date information and
notifications.
j Formation of groups to highlight grievances, will lead to disciplinary action against the members and the leader(s) of
those group. The students can intimate individually to the Principal in writing.
j Students can meet the Principal or Training Officer after seeking the prior permission from the concerned authorities.
However, guardians are free to meet the said officials at any time.
j The managing committee of the Institute reserves the right to amend or alter the rules from time to time.
j A student can avail leave (CL, Medical Leave, Special leave) as per provision with proper application. Without leave
application one will be marked absent & low percentage of attendances. For unauthorized absent one has to pay fine
as fixed by the Principal per day.
