There are several incidents were I have improved my Intrapersonal skills, forming comfortable working relationships with my supervisors and colleagues. This allows us to all communicate well and ask for help when we are stuck in situations that we need help resulting.

At Red Dot when we would get new juniors that join the team, my weekend supervisor would ask me to assist the junior with anything they needed. This lead to a great relationship and allowed the juniors to feel comfortable when asking for help, which improved productivity

In my Certificate Two TAFE course, we ran the EPICURE restaurant for two weeks. To complete our course and serve our customers with the best services possible we had to flawlessly communicate and work together with each other.

I was placed on the baking duties, such as the bread rolls and desserts, as well as assisting my co-workers when they became very busy.

This meant that I had to use my Communication Skills to effectively communicate with everyone in the busy kitchen. When our head chef read out the orders I had to be ready to send my orders out as well as often have to run my co-workers up to the waiter so they could start on the next order. This lead to our team being successful in running the kitchen and gaining a high customer satisfaction rate.Black Forest Cake with Chocolate collar

When I first started working for Red Dot I had to learn to be hard working, work with customer, and being punctual and reliable in order to excel in my position. Everyday we were given a list of things to complete in the store, like cleaning the registers or stocking the shelves, working hard and diligently was the only way to complete all of our assignments.

Balancing this with customer service was a daily occurrence. Working here greatly improve my customer service which now allows me to interoperate and understand customers who have a difficult time understanding or communicating what they want.This also allows me to still converse and engage with customers in a high stress environment. All of the hard work hat I put in to this had resulted in customers thanking my manager for my skills and to become one of the top junior workers at the Margaret River Red Dot

After completing certificate 2 in kitchen operations i am OH&S trained and have knowledge of personal protective equipment (PPE) and am able to break tasks down into small achievable steps which is essential in a kitchen. We learnt to do this by always completing a flow chart before the beginning of the day, thus giving efficient time to complete all my activities.

Since I was 15 I have done everything I could to learn about patisserie.

Often you can find me with multiple patisserie books or “researching” baking shows planning my next attempt or just to expand my knowledge of patisserie. I have even taken a 6 week patisserie course at TAFE.

I am eager to learn all I can about patisserie and hope to learn under the experience and guidance of your shop and it’s members.
