General SDecificationHousing : Die cast aluminium housing {or Size 030 to gO. For Size 100 & 1 10, it is available with cast
iron to GG20 grade. Case designed in uniblock configuration giving excellent dissipationfor heat and the advantage Ior universal mounting position.
Wormshaft : Made from alloy steel, case hardened and tempered to specil ied suface hardness toensure better wear strength. longer l ife and resistence to mechanrcal impact loao.
Wormwheel : Anti tr iction cast bronze wormwheel to DIN 17656 welded onto cast steel hub of GG2O-25grade. The rigidity and accuracy of the welded hub to wheel ensure the best performanceand the abil ity to withstand shock load.
Bealings : Low noise taper roller bearings are titted on the wormshaft l ine and deep groove ballbearings support the wormwheel. Except for the smaller sizes up to Size 60. thewormshaft is supported by deep groove ball bearings.
Seal : High quality antif. iction seal are fitted on all units and all units are tested for reaKsprior to delivery of goods to customers.
Lublication : All units are lubricated for l i le and it is virtually maintenance free. Up to and inclusive ofSize 90, these units are fi l led with synthetic oil. For Size 1 1O and above. mineral gear oilViscositv 320 is used.
Sizes : Currently g sizes are available with power capacity ranging from O.06kw to 7.5kw. Size 025is under construction and will be produced at later date.

Efficiency (q)Generally the efficiency of the wormgear depends on the gear ratio. As the gear ratio increases, the elfrcrencywill goes down.The efficiency of the wormgear in actual application can be different lrom those stated in the catalogue and thisis due largely to many lactors such as: incorrect installation or assembled of the unit, type and quality of lubricant,gear loads, rotational velocity, ambient temperature etc. These factors can affect the degree ot friction in the gear.Hence the actual torque on the output shaft is based on the efficiency under a uniform load application andas without the intluence of these factors that may aflected it efficiency value.
LubricationSize 30 to Size 90 are ti l led with synthetic gear oil and suitable for l i fetime. They can be mounted in anyposition. For Size 075 and 090, in case the mounting position is V5 and V6, please consult us with fulltechnical application data to determine the most suitable lubrication condition.Size 1 l0 and 1 30 are fi l led with mineral based gear oil and with oil f i l ler, drain and tevet ptugs.

Overhung {Radial} & Axial Loads
Radial Loads
Should be l t sheave, sprocket e tc is mounted on the gear shaf t , i t i s necessary to determine the rad ia l loadon the shaf t by us ing the ca lcu la t ion as showed be low. The ca lcu la ted rad ia l load must not exceed thosestated in Table 4 . l f i t exceeds the permiss ib le rad ia l load, then a separate shaf t w i th se l f -suppor t ingbea r i ngs shou ld be used t o moun t t he sheave , sp rocke t e t c and coup led t o t he gea r by a f l ex i b l e coup l i ng .Ano the r so lu t i on i s t o use a b igge r gea r .
The permiss ib le rad ia l load g iven in the tab le here is based on the un i t t ransmi t t ing fu l l ra ted power
and the load R is appl ied a t the mid way on the shaf t . In order to reduce bear ing loads and shaf t s t reesess
i t is recommended to mount the sheave,sprocket e tc as c lose as poss ib le to the gear un i t case.
