Meet the Nominees Dr. Justin Schooley President-Elect Dr. Justin Schooley currently serves as the associate superintendent of human resources with Berkeley County Schools in Martinsburg, WV. Justin began his career with Berkeley County Schools in 2001 as drug free schools coordinator and school safety compliance officer. For the past 13 years, Justin has worked in the Department of Human Resources, serving as coordinator, administrative assistant/ director and executive director. In 2014, Justin earned a Doctorate of Education degree from Shenandoah University in Organizational Leadership. He holds a Master of Science Degree in Industrial Relations from West Virginia University and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Secondary Education from Alderson-Broaddus College. Justin served as president, president-elect and past-president of the West Virginia Association of School Human Resources Officials (WVASHRO) and is currently serving as its professional development chair. In 2015, Justin was recognized as a recipient of the West Virginia State Journal’s Generation Next 40 under 40 Award. Justin is finishing a three-year term on AASPA Executive Board as the Region 3 Representative. During his time as an AASPA board member, Justin has served as the Board’s Liaison to the Constitution & By-Laws, Scholarship and Recognition committees as well as serving on the Board’s Finance Committee for the last two years. Prior to joining the Executive Board, Justin served three years as chair of the Constitution and By-Laws Committee. Justin has presented numerous workshops at Boot Camps, Annual Conferences and at WVASHRO events. Dr. Kimberly Chambers Secretary Kimberly Chambers is in her 15 th year as a chief educational human resources administrator. Currently the director of human resources at Adlai E. Stevenson High School District 125 in Lincolnshire, IL, she has worked in this role for four years. The “cradle of the Professional Learning Community movement, Stevenson has been nationally recognized for its impressive student and staff achievements. Kim is actively involved in AASPA, currently serving as the Recognitions Committee chairperson. She has previously served as the Legislative & Governmental Relations Committee and Nominations Committee chairpersons. Kim was the co-chair of the AASPA 2012 Annual Conference in Chicago. A founding member of the Illinois Association of School Personnel Administrators (IASPA), Kim is the current president. In addition, she served as the recording secretary of IASPA for six years. Kim holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Arts from DePauw University, a Master of Science in Human Services Counseling from National-Louis University, a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership from Aurora University, and a Doctorate of Education from Aurora University. Kim also earned her Certified Human Resources Specialist certification from Michigan State University and a Business Mastery Certificate from Northern Illinois University. Kim has presented at national and state conferences and has been asked to assist in the redesign of the Human Resources curriculum as part of Aurora University’s Doctor of Education and Superintendent endorsement program. Dr. Arthur Holmes Secretary Arthur Holmes, Ed.S., is a member from Region 6. He is beginning his 29 th year in public education. He has served as a classroom teacher, teacher specialist, building level administrator, and he is beginning his seventh year as the chief officer of human resources and administrative services for Jasper County School District in Ridgeland, SC. He earned his degrees from Winthrop University, Lesley University and Jones International. Arthur Holmes has been a member of AASPA since 2010 and has made several presentations at Boot Camps and conferences. Some of the topics he has presented on were: Human Resources: The Gate Keeper, What Do I Say and How Do I Say It, Handling the Interview Process, Diversity in the Workplace Beyond Ethnicity, and Now that I Have the Job. Not only does he present at AASPA, but he also presents at his state’s conference and for various districts and schools. In AASPA, Arthur serves on the Nominating (currently the chairperson), Membership and Scholarship Committees. He has learned to love AASPA and is a great supporter of it mission and its goals. A few other organizations that he is a member of are: South Carolina Association of School Administrators (SCASA), National Association of Black School Educators (NABSE), South Carolina Association of Black School Educators (SCABSE) served as corresponding secretary for four terms, formerly Association of School Curriculum and Development (ASCD), a board member for the Low Country Society of Human Resources Management (LCSHRM), and a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Incorporated where he served as recording secretary for three terms.

Meet the Nominees 2016-2017 Executive Board

Dr. Kerry Parker Region 4

Kerry Parker, Ed.D, is currently in her sixth year as the executive director of human resources for the Clovis Municipal School District in Clovis, NM. Prior to her position in human resources, she served as a high school administrator in Connecticut and Colorado for 14 years, and taught for 14 years in Colorado, New Mexico and Texas. Parker is also an adjunct professor for area colleges and universities. Since 2012, she has served as the Chair/Co-Chair of the AASPA Membership Committee. Additionally, she has conducted workshops for the following organizations: AASPA, International Skyward iCon Conference, National Conference for State Directors of Technical High Schools, New Mexico Association of School Business Officials,

Connecticut Technical High School System, Colorado Association of School Executives, Colorado Language Arts Society and the Colorado Association of Middle Level Educators. Further, she serves as a peer-reviewer for the International Journal of Leadership in Education and has contributed to the AASPA newsletter. Parker has been recognized as the Connecticut State Board of Education Assistant Principal of the Year, received the Connecticut State Board of Education Achievement Award, the Colorado High School Press Association Distinguished Yearbook Advisor Award and was named an Outstanding Young Woman of America.

Regina Terrell Region 3

Regina Burgess Terrell, a human resources professional with more than 24 years of experience, currently serves as the director of human resources at the Capitol Region Education Council (CREC) in Hartford, CT. She is responsible for all of the human resources functions for the organization. CREC is the largest of six Regional Educational Service Centers (RESCs) that serves 35 school districts in the Capitol Region and manages 19 Magnet Schools and seven Student Services Programs. Prior to joining CREC, Regina was employed as the director of human resources at a healthcare facility as well as at the largest non-profit human service agency in Connecticut.

Regina graduated from Morgan State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration as well as a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing. She holds a MBA from the University of Connecticut. She is also a graduate of the Leadership Greater Hartford Program, a large community leadership organization, and she successfully completed the Education Policy Fellowship Program, a nationally recognized fellowship program of the Institute of Educational Leadership, that develops strategic leaders for effective public policy.For 13 years, Regina has been an active member of the Connecticut Association of School Personnel Administrators (CASPA) and was recently appointed as a Member-at-Large. She is a member of AASPA, participating on the Minority Caucus committee for the past four years and recently joining the Recognition Committee. Regina is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) and previously served as a board member of the Connecticut Business Leadership Network. Regina has been a workshop presenter on the topics of supervision, cultural diversity and recruitment and retention at the American Association of Educational Service Agencies (AESA) and the New England Conference on Multicultural Education (NAME).
