Who Are They?

MedScope is a 15 year old company that provides medical alert solutions to the senior citizen community. They use home based technology devices for emergency response assistance. Unlike many others who also provide medical alert equipment, MedScope also offers a strong tie to United Healthcare and Aetna. They keep them in the loop on their customer’s most pressing needs and health related developments. This helps them produce more helpful products and services.

What Services Do They Offer?

MedScope offers several medical alert devices including a land line medical alert device. This device requires the user to be no more than 800 feet from the unit itself for it to work. They also offer a cellular medical alert device which can be used without a landline so the patient does not need a phone in order to make use of the equipment. The mobile mechanical alert devices can easily be worn around the neck and do not require the wearer to be within the walls of their home.

History As A Company

Incorporated 15 years ago in 1999, MedScope is a privately held corporation that works to put their clients needs first. They have set up a business model that partners with other organizations in the healthcare industry to “…open product distribution channels.” Many of these B2B connections that MedScope has teamed up with include CareSouth, Kindred Healthcare, Aetna and United Healthcare to name a few. MedScope is a Medical Assistance Provider in many states including Florida, North Caroline, Virginia, Washington, D.C., Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Connecticut, Texas and Illinois.

FAQ Page

MedScope doesn’t host a specific FAQ section on their website. This can make it a little trickier to sort through a lot of their content to find the answers to commonly asked questions that consumers might have. The website hosts a lot of information regarding their partnerships and products. However, a live chat option is available on the website at any time for those who are curious about their services to ask their questions to a live person.

How Do They Rate With The BBB?

MedScope boasts the highest rating with the Better Business Bureau holding an A+ rating for their length of time in business, the lack of complaints filed against them with the BBB (no complaints have been filed in the past 3 years against MedScope), and their solid background as a company of good standing and quality products and services.

Who Are Their Customers?

The customers are the elderly citizens who are looking for a safer way to enjoy an independent lifestyle in the comfort of their own homes. They are also the friends and family who love them, want to make sure they’re taking their medications on time every time, and have help when they experience an accident when they are unable to help themselves.

What Makes Them Stand Out?

MedScope stands out due to their relationships with other healthcare industry leaders in providing the best care for senior citizens. Having partnered up with many of these companies, MedScope is able to offer greater insight into their customers’ needs when it comes to offering the most helpful products and services. They also have a strong rating with the BBB and have been in business for a long time which shows their long-term commitment to serving the senior citizen community and their families.

Are They On Social Media?

MedScope does have a social media presence on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn and Google+. Some of their channels are stronger than others with their YouTube channel having only one short video on Medical Alert Devices which was posted 7 years ago. Their Facebook page hasn’t seen a post since April and only has 19 likes. Social Media involvement may not be as high of a priority for companies that service an older generation of consumers, many of whom aren’t regular users of social media.

Possible Negatives

The only possible negative is a lack of participation and updates on the social media channels. This is isn’t such a big concern considering their target market, but the social media efforts are promoted on the homepage of the website even though they are pretty much inactive.
