A. Theis. The Connellys have three daughters. All the young- sters enjoyed an outdoor picnic, while the grownups were served with a buffet supper by their hosts. * * * ST. MARK'S CHURCH NEWS The Rev. Edmond T. P. Mullen , priest-in-charge of St. Mark' s church , Jamaica avenue, return- ed home last Saturday by air from Europe, where he had spen t the summer. He officiated at morning prayer, holy communion and the second office of instruc- tion on Sunday. The Thursday morning Eucharists are being re- sumed as of this morning, at 9 a. m. The choir will meet for practice at 8 p. m. today. Next ^Sunday, the vicar will officiate and preach at 9 a. m. at morning praye r and holy communion. The Rev. Edmond T. P. Mullen has returned to the Vicarage af- ter a two-month tri p to England, Wales, Ireland and Holland, where he visited many old friends, including his guest of last spring, the Very Rev. William C. de Pauley, DJ)., dean of St. Pat- rick' s cathedral , Dublin , Ireland. While in Ireland , Father Mullen preached at St. Patrick's ,. and at the cathedral in Cashel, County Tipperary. In Wales he officiated and preached at services in Jhe Church of St. Mary of the Salu- tation, and Christ church, Welsh- pool, and in England at St. Mark' s church, London. What im- pressed him most in Ireland , he said, was the continuing vigor and strength of the Church of Ire- land in the southern part of that country. * * * Mr. and Mrs. Henry Sieber en- tertained a number of friends at their home on Oregon avenue Saturday afternoon and evening inj celebration of the third birth- day anniversary of their twin daughters, Carol and Nancy. The party was held outdoors. A beau- tiful candled birthday cake graced the table , which had multicolor decorations. Guests included the grandparents , Mr. and Mrs. John Sieber and Mr. and Mrs. S. The Boy Scouts of Troop 40 are urging each home owner to display an American flag on holi- days, and as Labor day is nearly here, they hope that each home has a flag on hand to display. priest-in-charge of St. Mark'schurch, Jamaica avenue, return-ed home last Saturday by airfrom Europe, where he had spentthe summer. He officiated atmorning prayer, holy communionand the second office of instruc-tion on Sunday. The Thursdaymorning Eucharists are being re-sumed as of this morning, at 9a. m. Mullenhas returned to the Vicarage af-ter a two-month trip to England,Wales, Ireland a n d Holland,where he visited many old friends,including his guest of last spring,the Very Rev. William C. dePauley, DJ)., dean of St. Pat-rick's cathedral, Dublin, Ireland.While in Ireland, Father Mullenpreached at St. Patrick's,. and atthe cathedral in Cashel, CountyTipperary. In Wales he officiatedand preached at services in JheChurch of St. Mary of the Salu-tation, and Christ church, Welsh-pool, and in England at St.Mark's church, London. What im-pressed him most in Ireland, hesaid, was the continuing vigor andstrength of the Church of Ire-land in the southern part of thatcountry.

HUNTINGTON—Because of un-expected and unprecedented inter-est in the new Naval Reserveofficers school, which will beginclasses at the Naval Training;center here September 13, addit-ional facilities for registering1 of-ficer candidates have been estab-lished, it has been announced byCommander A. E. Fiore, USNR,director of the school.

In order to answer questionswhich have been pouring in on theHuntington Training center eversince the first announcement of theschool 'was made, CommanderFiore this week made arrange-ments to have added st^ff mem-bers on hand to handkf the manyqueries which are expected to beput to them in the two remainingregistration periods.

These additional registrationperiods will be held Tuesday, andWednesday, at the training cen-ter headquarters, 1 New York ave-nue, here. The classes also will beheld at the center, arid will con-tinue each Tuesday thereafterthrough June 19, 1956.
