More offspring are produced by an organism than can possibly survive, only the best adapted will survive.(usually)

High birth rates cause a shortage of life’s necessities, leading to competition between organisms. (food, reproductive rights, habitat)

Each individual differs from all other members of its species; some differ more than others. (Genetically speaking)

Variations help some organisms to be better suited to their environments than others. These Adaptations usually occur naturally as mutations during reproduction.

The “most fit” (best adapted) organisms survive and reproduce. While unfit organisms die off without reproducing.

New species form from ancestral species by means of natural selection.
