3. Pause
Is it ok if I just take a moment to think about this problem?
Take three deep breaths as you think about your framework
4. Structure the problem using problem specific vocab
LOGIC & BREADTH
Write out first and second level issues and build third level as you talk
In addressing this problem there are 3 main areas we need to explore: A, B, and C
In A, I would like to look at a1, a2, a3, and in particular it will help us to understand 3rdlevel for detailed
drivers.
In B, I would like to look at b1, b2, and 3 and really get into these 3 rdlevel drivers
In C,..and so on.
5. Prioritise
Id like to look at B first as I think BBBBB issues are likely to drive this problem. Do you have a preference forwhere we start?
6. Listen to the interviewer
Recap new info and confirm data (charts and tables)
Breathe before answering questions
Structure every answer
Ask for a moment before starting a brainstorm or brief to CEO
Write down every brainstorm
Voice every assumption
What else?
7. Work the numbers
Take a deep breath before attempting the numbers
Set up the math before working the calculations
Do a super rough ball park as gross error check
Show the so what? of the calculation
Highlight the result and come back to it at the end
8. Synthesis
Take a deep breath
