Social Service Intern, Faith Mission Homeless Shelter, Columbus, OH, 2014- present

Assist homeless clients in creating a goal plan and achieving goals by connecting clients to community resources and services, utilizing strengths based interviewing techniques, and de-escalating crisis situations. Acts as the team lead for the HIV/ AIDS awareness committee which provides education as well as material prevention products such as condoms to shelter residents for free. Advocates for the needs of the homeless population and service providers by representing Faith Mission at Columbus Coalition for the Homeless meetings.

International Project Intern, Triple Salto, Quito, Ecuador, 2014

Built greenhouses to combat malnourishment and generate an income for those living in poverty in Quito, Ecuador. Executed project alongside Triple Salto and community members.

International Project Intern, The Cameroon Association of Active Youth, Oku, Cameroon, 2013

Implemented a women’s empowerment project abroad with The Cameroon Association of Active Youth. Secured and transported donations of feminine hygiene products, seeds, and sports equipment from the United States to Cameroon. Planted community demonstration gardens with donated hybrid seeds. Planted a tree nursery with 5,000 trees. Taught courses on violence against women, menstruation, climate change, and group dynamics.

Implemented a sports activity program. Conducted research on the needs of schools in Oku, Cameroon. Compiled research data into a report.
