    Vowel Scavenger Hunt

    Cut out words from the newspaper and count the number of vow-

    els and consonants in each word. Paste the words on a separatepiece of paper and write the fraction of vowels for each. Reducethe fractions if possible. For example, it=1/2 and cat=1/3, andnewspaper=3/9 or 1/3.
