Our Lent Fundraiser was a success, as our school collective- ly raised more than our proposed total of 4,000 dollars. There will be a staff makeo- ver at 10:45 on May 4th in leiw of our achieved goal. You are welcome to at- tend! In Pre-K we have been focusing on “doing things for others, and not al- ways thinking about ourselves”. That’s a difficult concept for little ones to grasp, but many of them have been mindful of this virtue throughout the month. We’ve been discussing how Jesus is someone to look up to because of his selfless acts. I en- courage you to talk with your child about Jesus at home. As a prompt, you could ask them why they would want to be like Jesus, who he is, and what are some good things he has done. At school we encour- age the children to be Christ like, and if a conflict arises, they A note from Ms. Hofer... On May 30th the Pre-k’s will be taking part in the primary Play Day. We are keeping our fingers crossed for nice weather on this day, otherwise indoor activities will take place. Because the majority of the events will be outside we ask that you consider the following:

1. Send a bottle of water with your child.

2. Insure your child has sunscreen on/Mosquito repellent.

3.

4. Insure they are wearing comforta-ble clothes and shoes.

5. Send a hat with them.

Given that our monthly theme is based on Famous Artists, the Pre-K’s will putting on a “gallery exhibi-tion”, with their work being showcased! There will be no school for Pre-K’s on this day, as we will be having a combined Family Day in the afternoon with both classes. You are welcome to come and go from 1:00-3:00.

Beat the Sunday-afternoon blues by attending the Mackenzie Art Gallery’s Family Studio Sunday’s! Families explore the exhibitions through family-focused tours, hands on art-making, and special Sunday events with storytell-ing and special guest artists. Facilitators lead a variety of activities geared for family members of all ages.
