DESCRIPTION: Feedback about work performance is probably the most difficult of all conversations to give or receive (except of course when the feedback is all positive and there are no concerns!). In this session we will cover all the key elements needed for crafting constructive feedback and how to anticipate and deal with the normal human defensive reactions that are likely to occur. Our focus will be on informal coaching and not formal reviews or discipline. We'll work with a performance feedback "map" that can help guide anyone giving or receiving feedback.

Sometimes, however, even for effective teams, the change being thrust upon a team presents significant challenges: Will the team be able to accomplish its performance goals? Who is driving this change and why? How will individuals be supported during the change? Is the solution proposed by the change the right one? How can the proposed change be improved? This committee is charged with establishing and maintaining the procedures associated with faculty evaluation. The committee has worked over the last year and a half to redesign the probationary process for new full‐time faculty. The committee will present its work to date and would like to receive feedback from anyone interested in this process. We especially encourage full‐time faculty who recently successfully completed the probationary period to attend.

DESCRIPTION: Using comedy and improvisation we will explore intra‐office interpersonal communications. In this session the participants will interact via improvisational techniques and role playing. We will learn some concrete assertive communication skills to address situations when we feel uncomfortable because of the behavior and/or communication patterns of our co‐workers. Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society of the Two Year College & Madison College Student Life Congratulates all new Madison College student inductees

Madison College students will soon see their email service user interface upgraded to Microsoft Outlook Web App 2010.

What it means for students• Storage space for student emails will increase to 1GB for each student, allowing them to send and receive larger files with their student accounts.

• They will have access to advanced email organization, search, communication and social networking features.

• Students will be able to easily access their email account from their mobile devices.

What it means for faculty & staff• You will be able to check and confirm that students receive the emails you send them.

• No more trying to track down student email addresses.

• Increased functionality will make it easier for you to communicate with your students.

• With these improvements, more students will want to use their Madison College email accounts

Student Email Upgrades Coming!When will this happen?• Our goal is to switch to the new system on Jan. 24, 2011. Once the move is made, student email accounts will have the same suffix as the faculty and staff.

• Over the next few months, we will strive to make students, faculty, and staff aware of these changes and instruct students on how to preserve important information in their current student email accounts.

• We will continue to provide updates as more details become available.
