Faculty Member and Counselor Stockton State College Pomona, New Jersey Governor’s School on the Environment (May 27 – August 1, 1990 and June 30 - July 31, 1993) Courses taught: Human Ecology (included diversity issues, moral reasoning, and human relation issues) for gifted and talented high school rising seniors from the state of New Jersey. Facilitated a small group seminar on personal and/ or environmental issues. Associate Dean of Students University of North Carolina at Charlotte - Charlotte, North Carolina Dean of Students Office (August, 1984- June 30, 1988) Directed the Student Orientation, Advising, and Registration Program (SOAR), a yearlong program for incoming freshmen and transfer students and their parents. Managed budget of $250,000. Supervised two graduate assistants and an undergraduate staff of 30 people. Administered Minority Support Programs and advised the Black Student Union, the Student Court (judicial affairs), and two commuter organizations. Served as Coordinator for the National Student Exchange Program and Commuter Life Programs. Advised the Black Self-Education Organization. Taught “Polish Up Your ABC’s and Achieve a Better Communication.” Assistant Director for Developmental Education University of Wisconsin at Oshkosh Developmental Education Program (January, 1978 – October, 1978) Directed the Pre-College Program for ethnically diverse first year students. Supervised 3 staff members and 15 student tutors. Designed the program curriculum, collected and analyzed data for Federal grant reports. Developed, coordinated, and facilitated the Comprehensive Tutorial Program.
