Helicoid flights are formed in a special rolling machine by forming a steel strip into a continuous one-piece helix of the desired diameter, pitch and thickness to fit conveyor screw pipes. The helicoid flight is tapered in cross section, with the thickness at the inner edge approximately twice the thickness of the outer edge.

Sectional flights are individual flights or turns blanked from steel plates and formed into a spiral or helix of the desired diameter and pitch to fit conveyor screw pipes. The flights are butt welded together to form a continuous conveyor screw. Modifications can be furnished, such as, fabrication from various metals, different flight thicknesses, other diameters and pitches. The buttweld flight is the same thickness in the full cross section.

Key to Conveyor Size DesignationThe letter “H” indicates screw conveyor with helicoid flighting. The figures to the left of the letters indicate the nominal outside diameter of the conveyor in inches. The first figure following the letters is twice the diameter of the couplings in inches. The last two figures indicate the nominal thickness of flighting at the outer edge in 1⁄64”. Thus conveyor 12H408 indicates 12” diameter helicoid conveyor for 2”couplings with flighting 8⁄64” or 1⁄8” thickness at outer edge. Hand of conveyor is indicated by “R” or “L” following the designation.

Heavy duty belts are approximately 2-1/2 times as atrong as standard duty belts. Keystone’s heavy duty welded selvage belts are available in three different mesh sizes and four different materials: low carbon galvanized steel, C1050 bright high carbon steel, T-304 stainless steel and T-316 stainless steel. Other materials can be special ordered.

Welded selvage belts permit the use of sprockets in the first opening on either side of a belt. Welded selvage belts wider than 24” are supplied with internal welds. Welded selvage belts 24” and under can be supplied with internal welds, at no additional charge, when requested.

Sturdy hinged construction makes Flexco® Bolt Hinged fasteners ideal for applications that use smaller pulleys, but still require a high-strength, dependable splice. A choice of sizes accommodate belts from 1/4” (6mm) to 5/8” (16mm) thick. For belt conveyor applications subject to frequent length adjustments, the Bolt Hinged fastener is easy to install – and re-install. The joint can be separated simply by removing the hinge pin. Flexco® Bolt Solid Plate fasteners are engineered to meet the demands of the toughest material handling applications, providing a strong sift-free splice and superior holding ability. A choice of sizes accommodates belts from 3/16” (5 mm) to over 15/16” (24 mm) thick.

High strength is the result of superior design and plate compression on both the top and bottom sides of the belt. High tensile strength bolts compress top and bottom plates to distribute splice tension evenly across the entire width of each fastener plate. Alligator® Conveyor Belt Lacing by Flexco

For easy, economical installation and an exceptionally smooth joint, choose the Alligator® Conveyor Belt Lacing System. Alligator Lacing is available in continuous lengths to fit any belt width and the one- piece design provides uniform tension across the full belt width. The one-piece fastener strip also ensures that there are no loose pieces to work themselves out of the belt and into the conveyed product.

Designed for belts from 1/32” (.8 mm) to 1/2” (12.5 mm), Alligator Belt Lacing installation requires no special tools, only a hammer. The lacing is secured with teeth that embed lengthwise on the belt, providing a strong, vise-like hold. Clips hold gauge rod and lacing firmly and squarely against the belt and ensures a strong, straight splice. The straight splice also helps ease hinge pin insertion.

Flexco® SR™ Rivet Hinged Fastener System

The Flexco®SR™Scalloped EdgeTMfastener features a low profile that significantly reduces the fastener’s exposure to cleaner blades, skirt rubber, and return idlers. Reduced wear and tear on the fastener extends the life of the splice to maximize belt availability and to help keep productivity on a roll.

Designed for rubber plied and PVC solid woven belting, and for worn belts unfit for vulcanized splices, the Flexco SR fastener features a patented Scalloped Edge design. The scalloped design contributes to improved fastener profile resulting in increased compatibility with belt cleaners and improved cleaner-tip wear. The staggered rivet pattern also provides maximum holding ability by allowing the rivets to pass betweeen the carcass fibers without damaging them.
