“PSA’s primary goal is to make participants aware

of the importance of finishing school, building self-esteem

and motivation, encouraging goal setting, promoting healthy

lifestyles, and promoting responsibility.”



Benefits of Athletics

Many young people view athletics as a steppingstone to a better life. Participation in sports positively increases student’s attitudes and

perceptions regarding education, self-perceptions, and sportsmanship.

Engaging students in positive activities can reduce negative behaviors

and truancy.



Program Highlights

Through our counseling center an array of support services were

designed to help the whole individual.

Program services will be provided year-round after school, weekends,

summers, and during school vacations.

PSA will help mold “at risk children’s” dreams into reality using

entrepreneurial courses.

PSA will offer registration, transportation, and financial assistance.

Parents must participate with program activities and commit at less 12

hours a month to help the family become involved in the process.

The B.B.A.A.D program is a prerequisite to participate in the Homeless

Initiative and/or Patterson Sports Authority (PSA).

To be successful in life one must believe in themselves. Through the

B.B.A.A.D four components participants will learn techniques to increase

their self value and start the course to achieving their goals.

Increase in teen and young families (drop-outs/ double occupancy)

Education (lack of literacy or technical skills)

Domestic Violence Victims Addictions (alcohol, drugs and others)

Mental Illness (untreated due to denial/lack of knowledge)

Felons (newly released from incarceration)

Expected outcome for the program participants are:

Decrease the number of homeless individuals and families

Provide permanent homes and a new way of life

Increase good nutrition and healthy behavioral patterns

Improve managerial and coping skills, self-esteem, and ability to make

your passions in life.

Step Up In Georgia, Inc. links the two most vulnerable age groups in our society

Youth and Senior Citizens.

Providing resources such as:

• Training

• Affordable housing initiatives

• Community and economic development opportunities


Step Up In Georgia, Inc. envisions communities where generations

live, learn, work and play together;

where each generation is nurtured,

protected, respected, empowered;

and provided an e q u a l opportunity

to reach their full potential

Handle Your Business (HYB)

The entrepreneurship program is offered to sophomore and

junior high school students.

Students attend monthly training sessions, seminars and

workshops for six months before graduating.

Enables disadvantaged youth to obtain the education and

employment skills necessary to achieve economic self-

sufficiency.
