Message From The Principal

Dear Solley Families,

The major focus of our School Improvement Plan

continues to be on READING. Our students meet in small

reading groups with their teacher to help work on skills that

will make them better at reading. Please make sure that you are

discussing what books they are reading in class and encourage

them to read on their own every night for 20-30 minutes.

Reading to your children is also a great way of helping them

become better readers. Remember to use the RAZ-Kids log in

that was provided to all students by our awesome PTA!

5th Grade students will be taking the new science test,

MISA, on March 6, 8, 9, and 12. This test helps determine how

much content students have retained over their 4th and 5th

grade years in science. Please make sure that they have a good

night sleep, a good breakfast, and arrive to school on time!

I want to congratulate Mrs. Duty and the dance team for their

amazing performance at the Anne Arundel County Dance Fes-

surrounds us is pervasive. One of my favorite quotes is, “BE

KIND! For everyone you meet is fighting a battle that you

know nothing about!” Please take the time to sit with your

child and talk about some of the character traits they have been

learning about this year.

PBIS News Welcome back!

We always need volunteers to help run the store in the morning.

Please check with Mrs. Grantham/Mrs. Poole if you are able to help

out! We still have magnets for sale to help our PBIS

program. They are $5.00 each and we accept cash or

check. Thank you for all your support.

The Solley School Supply Store needs your help…...

This monthly newsletter will keep you informed of all of the PBIS & Kids At Hope events and activities throughout the school year. PBIS, Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports is a process for creating safer and more effective schools. It is a school-wide system for following the 3R’s. Respect, Responsibil-ity and Ready to Learn. Students earn cardinal cash when they exhibit the 3R’s during the school day and even on the bus! Cardinal Cash is then turned in for special events, the school store and classroom rewards. It is for ALL STUDENTS, ALL our STAFF and IN ALL SETTINGS. Please encourage your students daily to be respectful, responsible and ready for learning! Thank you.

Thank you for supporting the Father/Daughter Dance.
