Report on Welsh Meeting of Mapdot Grundtivg Project
October 23,24,25 2012
The initial meeting of MAPDOT Project was held in Llandovery Carmarthenshire based in the Kings
Head Hotel/pub. The meeting was attended by Turkey Poland and Malta
The partners from Slovakia did not come as the funds had not arrived from their National Agency and
the Czech Republic Partner did not attend due to a document problem .
The meeting confirmed the tasks of each partner and introduced Iulian Scutelinicu and Kirstie Law
who are volunteers working with Kinesthetics on this project. They bring further expertise on the
work with disadvantaged adults to compliment the knowledge and experience of Carroll Nunnerley
and Richard Foot.
We had as a workshop a presentation from Yoka Kilkelly who is a potter giving workshops to both
learners and disabled learners. It was a very interesting approach to the concept of working with clay
and learning difficulties.
We had a visit to Colge Elidyr to illustrate how those with medium to sever learning difficulties are
educated and integrated into society.

Report on Malta Meeting of Mapdot Grundtivg Project
March 2013
A Grundtvig Lifelong Learning Partnership meeting was held in Gozo last week. This was its second
meeting and those attending included delegates from Malta, Slovakia, Turkey, Wales and Poland.
The Grundtvig project is a framework for practical co-operation activities between organisations
working in the field of adult learning in the broadest sense – formal or informal. Compared with the
larger Grundtvig multilateral co-operation projects, which are generally more product or outcome-
oriented, the partnerships focus more on process and aim to broaden, in particular, the participation
of smaller organisations wishing to include European co-operation in their education activities.
In a Grundtvig Learning Partnership trainers and learners from at least three participating countries
work together on one or more topics of common interest to the co-operating organisations. This
exchange of experiences, practices and methods contributes to an increased awareness of the varied
European cultural, social and economic scene and to a better understanding of areas of common
interest.
The participating organisations are encouraged to monitor and evaluate their transnational work and
to interconnect it with the initiatives of their local community. They are also encouraged to
cooperate with organisations and authorities at the national level, to ensure a sound basis for their
ideas and activities and open up channels for dissemination.
This will maximise the value of the transnational exchange, promote the circulation of good practice,
and thus ensure the wider impact of results.
The Gozo meeting focused on inclusive education in crafts, art and sports for people with special
needs.
The participants were also given the opportunity to view the island and went on various educational
and cultural visits around Gozo.

Grundtvig Learning Partnership Project Move& Pull Down the Wall Page 35
After visiting the Therapy Workshops in Olsztyn the next point in the programme was Dance Theatre
Autentyczni MY” -autistic students with their teachers from ZPE in Olsztyn. A few words about the
theater:
“Dance Theater was established in 2011. Its members are students with autism,
students with multiple disabilities and students with Down Syndrom. Because of specific
disabilities also therapists take part in the dance theater.
Today’s performance „Authentic” it is the first performance which has been preparing
for almost 1 year. It was prepared for a special occasion – the tenth anniversary of ZPE.
The main aim of the theater was to show what exactly autism is . It was the main
idea. Therapists who are choreographers want to show a unique autistic world. They want to
share he knowledge about autsim and different kind of disabilities using a universal art.’s
language. It is an Art without words, based on a movement, dance and sign – because it is
sometimes the only way of communication with autistic people.
They said about themselves: „We – authentic” because we are taught of the
choreography, on the stage there is a real picture of each student. For exapmle Beata will
give an applaus where it should be a silence, Klaudiusz will start to jump when everybody
should fall down and only WE – therapists will know where is the border between between
choreography and where real theater will begin.”
Music: Fade Out
Choreography: Katarzyna Śliwińska
Scenography: Anna Wangin
Grundtvig Learning Partnership Project Move& Pull Down the Wall Page 36
Direction: Katarzyna Śliwińska, Anna Wangin, Anna Janus, Magdalena Bielicka
The announcement of our performance these words will be the best:
„We are surrounded by a mistery…….
Different but the same as all men
Real but not always discovered” How many faces has your life got?
Grundtvig Learning Partnership Project Move& Pull Down the Wall Page 37
Grundtvig Learning Partnership Project Move& Pull Down the Wall Page 38
Dance theater was a great experience for our partners. It was just a sample: partners
could imagine how the autistic life looks like, what people with autism feel and how they fill.
After show there was a constant applaus and photo - sessions with our students – actors.
In the evening all partners met at the Festive Dinner in Warminski Hotel. Director Wanda
Agnieszka Jablonska gave certificates of attendance in the 5th meeting of MAPDOT project.
Day 3.
We went to the Old Town in Olsztyn. The guide explain many interesting things about the history of
Olsztyn, Copernicus. Partners visited the Olsztynski Castel.
Grundtvig Learning Partnership Project Move& Pull Down the Wall Page 39
After visiting we left the Old Town we went for a lunch which was held in MARENGO restaurant in
Olsztyn (http://www.marengo.mazury.pl). The parnters were welcomed by Polish dancers in
traditional Polish costumes. They were singing traditional Polish songs with accordion
accompaniment. Parthers were taken for a carriage ride. During the lunch they could try
typical, traditional Polish dishes and they could see traditional Polish dances.

Contestants from Malta, Turkey, Slovakia and Poland participated in this year’s
Abilympics within the GRUNDTVIG Partners Project Move & Pull Down the Wall
(MAPDOT). Over 50 participants arrived in Pardubice already on Wednesday, May
21, to discover Pardubice and to visit the facilities which work handicapped people.
22 May 2014 Thursday
Their visit to the Basic and Practical School Svítání and the Day Care Centre MIREA
was very successful. At both places, the visitors especially enjoyed music therapy
and actively took part in it. Specialised discussions among teachers and exchange of
experience with work with handicapped people which took place during these visits
were very important. When visiting the hippotherapy centre Apolenka, all participants
had an opportunity to try horse riding and there was a discussion on employing the
handicapped people in work with animals. The visit to the Lentilka – Children’s
Remedial Centre Pardubice was also very pleasant and the topic for discussion was
autism. At the social event in the Integration Centre Kosatec the participants tasted
Grundtvig Learning Partnership Project Move& Pull Down the Wall Page 49
national dishes which were prepared by the employees of the canteen. The most
frequently ordered and enjoyed dish was roasted duck with sauerkraut, several kinds
of dumplings and Pernštejn, the traditional beer from Pardubice.
23 May 2014 Friday

competition and Dominik Michalski from Olsztyn in Poland ranked second in glass painting
and decoupage. In the discipline of egg painting the Polish participants astonished the visitors
