Course Description:

This course will introduce the student into blueprinting, measuring instruments, machine shop practice and shop theory, CNC programming and operation. The student will be given projects to complete, student will also learn Safety. Finals and exams will be given throughout the Program. Shop projects are required in order to complete this program.

Course Objective:

The students will be able to know the parts of the machine, interpret blueprints, geometric symbols and know CAD using software. They will be prepared in measuring instruments using flexible steel scale, calipers, micrometer and operate machines with fellow machinists. Know the rules of the machine shop and let the student work with CNC programming and operations. Prepare the student for the field that they are training for while being in the environment.

Course Objective:

The student will be able to repair heating and cooling in homes and in businesses. Install heating and cooling and trouble shoot the problems. Repair furnace and condenser. Students will have the knowledge of interpreting blueprints, wiring systems, EPA principles and Freon handling, thermodynamics. Student will take the EPA exam.

HVAC Technicians are required to pass an EPA-approved test to earn Section 608 Technician Certification.

The tests are specific to the type of equipment the technician seeks to work on. Tests must be administered by an EPA-approved certifying organization (Masters Vocational College, Inc.)

Section 608 Technician Certification credentials do not expire.

To Become EPA Certified, student must get a passing score of 70% per Test Section. All technicians

must achieve a passing score in Section “A” (CORE QUESTIONS) to be certified in any of the other

three Sections. Test Sections: A, I, II, & III

If Student has successfully completed Section “A”, along with any other three Sections of the Test, it is reflected on Student’s Certification Card.

If student wishes to retake the Certification Test,

Student only needs to complete the Section(s) in which they failed to

achieve a score of 70% or better.
