ReThink Your Drink Marketing Messages
• This message has the potential to effect policies, environmental changes, and programs that support lifestyle changes.
• There will be four (4) messages shared with the people of Alabama over the 12 month period from August 2013- July 2014.
• The messages all encourage making wise beverage choices.
Four Messages
• Rethink Your Drink– Choose Water- Consume water. Water is important
for body functions . – Watch calories- Hidden calories in sugar sweetened
beverages and in alcoholic beverages add up quickly. – Lower sugar intake – Colas are often targeted for high
sugar beverages; however, sweet tea, aide drinks and punches also provide large amounts of sugar. Consuming fruit juices is supported only in small amounts.
– Drink skim or fat free milk- Low fat milk provides nutrients such as calcium, vitamin D, etc.
