Porto Maravilha (Marvelous Port) project entails public investment of around R$8 billion in:

• restructuring the street network;

• modernizing urban infrastructure;

• implementing a light rail system (VLT);

• restoring the waterfront;

• creating cultural and leisure facilities;

• boosting housing, business and service land use;

• providing urban infrastructure for informal housing districts.

The project to remodel the Mário Filho (Maracanã) Stadium, besides modernizing sports facilities, will also provide:

• greater comfort for visitors;

•Transolímpica – 10,000 passengers per hour in each direction, 26 km, 16 stations, cost: R$2,270 million

•Transbrasil – 40,000 passengers per hour in each direction, 20 km, 13 stations, cost: R$1,300 millionAll BRTs will work on a concession basis

•Railroad system – State government to invest around R$2.4 billion

•Metro Line 4 – State government to invest around R$5 billion. The 14-km line linking the South Zone to Barra da Tijuca, and connecting with the Transoeste, will be fully completed in December 2015.

By 2012, 70 family health clinics will have been built aspart of the Family Health program, extending coverage to80% of people who depend on the public SUS system.

PRIMARY HEALTH CARE

•A milestone in the restructuring of primary health care and health care management in the municipality of Rio de Janeiro;

•Management priority for the Municipal Health and Civil Defense Secretariat (SMSCD) in strengthening its Family Health Strategy;

•Each clinic has between three and nine Family Health teams and from one to four Oral Health teams.
