Updates

Check-­‐In  Information  Volunteers  will  be  stationed  at  the  hotel  to  direct  NCCs  to  the  check-­‐in  

room.    

NCCs,  please  be  sure  to  have  the  following  materials  ready  for  an  efficient  check-­‐in:    

• Registration  check  (if  you  did  not  mail  it  to  us!)  • Delegate  waivers  

• Pop-­‐tabs    • Display  

Check-­‐in  will  close  at  6:30pm  for  opening  ceremonies.  Following  opening  ceremonies,  late  check-­‐in  will  be  held  at  conference  

headquarters  in  the  hotel.    

Shuttle  Information  There  will  be  constant  shuttles  running  throughout  the  conference  weekend,  with  

additional  shuttles  running  during  busy  times.  Each  delegation  will  be  assigned  a  certain  shuttle,  which  will  be  listed  on  your  conference  nametag.  We  encourage  your  delegation  to  use  the  shuttle  system  rather  than  drive  as  parking  on  KU’s  campus  near  our  locations  is  minimal  and  requires  a  fee.    

Safety  Information    As  with  any  trip  to  a  new  place,  please  be  attentive  to  your  surroundings  to  

ensure  safety.  At  KU,  we  use  the  Jayhawk  Buddy  System,  making  sure  that  when  you  go  somewhere,  you  go  with  your  buddy,  stay  with  your  buddy  throughout  the  

night,  and  make  sure  to  leave  and  return  home  with  your  buddy.

Entertainment Shakin’  Up  the  Pieces  Dance  

Saturday  night,  the  Holiday  Inn  will  play  host  to  our  dance!  Glow  sticks  will  be  provided  to  highlight  our  conference  colors!  All  are  welcome  in  their  beset  Halloween  garb,  if  you  choose  to  

wear  a  costume  (if  not,  totally  fine!)!    

Costume  Contest  

There  will  be  a  costume  contest  at  this  year’s  Shakin’  Up  the  Pieces  Dance!  There  will  be  a  1st,  2nd,  and  a  3rd  place  for  individual  costumes,  as  well  as  best  overall  group  costume!    

Socials  

Friday  night,  we  will  have  several  socials  to  cater  to  various  positions  in  housing  as  well  as  a  LGBTQ+  social  that  is  welcome  to  all!    

Drag  Show  

The  LGBTQ+  social  will  play  host  to  MACURH’s  first  ever  Drag  Show!  Come  one,  come  all  for  a  fabulous  night  that  will  shake  up  the  pieces  of  this  conference!    

Game  Night  

Friday  night  will  also  play  host  to  an  awesome  night  filled  with  various  board  games,  puzzles  and  countless  other  fun  activities!    

Cultural  Conundrum  

Partnering  with  Game  Night,  various  cultural  and  ethnic  groups  on  campus  who  will  have  the  opportunity  to  show  off  what  it  is  that  makes  their  club  or  organization  diverse,  and  by  

extension,  awesome!  

Delegate  Jeopardy    

Friday  night  also  affords  delegates  the  opportunity  to  take  part  in  a  Jeopardy  game  night,  with  categories  ranging  from  “Celeb  malfunctions”  to  “MACURH  trivia”!  Do  you  have  what  it  takes  to  

beat  other  delegates?    

Campus  Tours  

Friday  afternoon,  delegates  have  the  opportunity  to  take  a  tour  of  our  beautiful  campus,  led  by  our  Student  Ambassadors,  who  are  experts  in  the  field  of  KU  fun  facts!

• Clothes  for  the  day    • Pencil  and  notebook  for  programming  sessions    • Water  bottle    • Small  bag  or  backpack  to  carry  all  your  belongings  for  the  day  in    • Business  attire  for  boardrooms    • Power  strip  for  Spirit  Points  • Semi-­‐formal  attire  for  closing  banquet    • Optional:  Halloween  costume  for  the  dance    • School  swag  (from  your  school)  for  swap  shop    

Sunday  

• Comfortable  clothes  to  travel  home  in
