SESSION NARRATIVE Effects of Stress 10 minutes

Stop after playing only the first verse of the song, Time. Introduce yourself to the audience and tell them about what lodge you are member of, where you live, and a unique fact about yourself. Read over the lyrics with the participants and discuss the similarities and differences with the the person in the song. The person in the song even chose not to take any action at all. This envelopes a person after they do it over and over again. However, this is not the case for Americans, for it might be only foreign people who fritter and waste their hours away. State that Pink Floyd's song is what happens whenever time management goes wrong, and ask the audience what takes up their time. This may include responsibilities, tasks, and groups. Take responses and copy them down on the third flip chart page. After having received responses, turn the flip chart to the fourth page.

Time Management Matrix 15 Minutes

3 Minutes: In order to avoid the detrimental effects of stress, one must be proactive in managing time. The first step in pursuing a stress-free, well-managed daily life is writing everything down on a to-do list. Always set aside time once at the beginning of each week to make a “brain drain,” writing down all of your tasks, leisures, and responsibilities on one's mind on a piece of paper. We will now use a piece of notebook paper and write your “brain drain”.

Allow participants 3 minutes to write their tasks, and then turn to the flip chart to page five. As you can see, when one has written my “brain drain” and clearly have a lot to do. It may even seem overwhelming to see the disorganized list of tasks to accomplish. This is because there is a key element of management missing. This is the essential prioritizing of tasks which assures that the most important tasks be sequentially tackled. Prioritizing is the process of discerning and placing certain tasks with a greater urgency over other tasks that may be completed at a later date. Now, we will place our unorganized list into the time management matrix, prioritizing them into groups of “Do now,” “Plan to do,” and “Do in free time.” Take five minutes to prioritize and help participants prioritize their tasks, then turn to flip-chart page six.

Do Now (Urgent) Plan To Do Do in Free Time

History Poster (Monday) Movie with girlfriend Facebook

LEC Meeting (Tuesday) Fri. Football game Television

English Essay (Wednesday) Cut the grass chore Texting

Troop Meeting (Thursday)

Ask for two people to stand and present their Time Management Matrix One must realize that some of the main ideas that you come up with accomplishing in your head may never be achieved because it may not in aligned be your main focus. This is usually accomplished through the magical words, “I am incapable of completing that.” A great of problem of mismanaging time is similarly important with overloading yourself in work and responsibilities.

Lodge Leadership Development Order of the Arrow

Flip Chart “Lodge Service Day” Time: 15:00

A main goal is for each and every participant to bring back something of skill and usage to benefit their own lodge. A main component of planning quality loge is the special lodge events that happen at the local level. Our next exercise is the creation and planning of a lodge service day. Gather the two pages, tape them on the wall, and gather markers. In any project in the business world, there exists a list of deadlines to tasks. One may write this down on a to-do list, a calendar, or something else. Ask your audience possible methods and devices the audience use to calendarize and write down to-do lists. Allow 3 minutes of sharing One will now ask the question, “What are the factors that go into a great Inductions fellowship?” Allow 3 minutes of sharing and writing on a flip-chart page, then turn to flip chart page six and disclose the committees and tasks needing to be done for the service project. Turn the flip-chart to page seven. Allow participants eight minutes to come up with ideas about what makes a quality service day and figure out the proper dates on the calendar. Also, gather the two calendars and place them on an easel. Someone always wants to be in-charge-of a service event by themselves. However, one can avoid micromanagement and corruption by dividing off into partners of two and tackling a portion of the functions committee. The instructions are to give each group of two a sticky note to write their planned actions upon. Each group will then counsel and declare whats tasks should they be in charge of at the next function. It is also necessary to talk with other groups to base your groups work decisions in-line with our deadlines. Each group will place their sticky-note on a blank square on the calendar, which represents the date at which it is due. The trainers stands up and presents the two calendars and discuss the general selection of the due dates for the work project preparation. Ask upon each of the two-person committees to present their due dates and their reasoning behind their decision. Incorporate discussion from the audiences, who are growing into developing, independent time managers of the future.

Conclusion Last slide Conclusion Time: 4:00

The main focus and habit of a healthy teen is beginning with the end in mind. The healthy boy had his eyes on that prize, but did not have the proper work management ethic needed to reach that place. In any critique, analogy, or quest, the acquired quality of time management is essential. Time management ensures a healthy life free of stress and its harmful symptoms. People who manage time tend to be successful in their life while accomplishing more. In conclusion, the proper implementation of time management in one's work can aid people in leadership positions presume their responsibilities and complete tasks. Turn to last page of flip-chart with the lyrics of the last verse of Time. Finish your session by finishing the song Time where you stopped.

Every year is getting shorter, never seem to find the time. Plans that either come to naught or half a page of scribbled lines. Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way. Time is gone; the song is over. Thought I’d something more to say. –Pink Floyd
