Thank you that you have the time to make the interview with me. So let´s begin. When and where was the first time you meet each other?

Lucia: We actually meet in Argentinia when i was about 16 years old.

And how? So you have been there Joe? For what reason?

Joe: When i finished Highshool i was ta-king part in this school exchange and i went to a highschool in Argentinia.

Lucia smiling: Yes, and it was my school!!!

When you have seen each other for the first time?

Joe: I know exactly when i saw her. I was in class in school and two girls came into the class and they asked: Can we speak with the boy from New

Zealand? Would you come to our Eng-lishclass? I said...yes, that´s cool...it was funny actually cause...yes everybody was clapping their hands and shouting happy...so i was going out with these two girls and were like...seeyou guys...goodbye! So i went to this Englishclass and yeah..basically it was Lucias class!

What have you thought seeing Joe for the first time?

Lucia: So i was in this class and i saw him and he saw me and then after that it was a friday so it was a weekend af-ter that we didn´t need to go to school and then i was thinking: i should get to know that guy cause he seems cool and i thought you were thinking the same or something like that..... . Lucia looks to Joe, Joe without reaction.

Lucia louder: H e l l o ?Joe: Yes sure! both laughing

Lucia smiling: Anyway! So you pick me up or not?

Joe: Yes. I went to find her. We not re-ally spoke in the class but i remembe-red her face pretty well and in the the next few days i was thinking: Wow. This girl was really cute. So i asked a friend telling her that i met this girl..but i don´t know her name or anything about her...i only know how she looks like..so i described Lucia to this friend of mine and she knew immediately who i was searching: It´s lucia, my friend! So she knew Lucia and helped me to find her..it was a really funny situation..we were walking and my friend was pointing her finger to a girl and asking: Is that her? Is that her? I was: Yeah, psssst. Not so loud and then Lucia re-cognized us and i was like: Hey! Hi! Hello! What´s up? So we spoke a little. Unfortunately i were too shy and thin-king after our small coversation: Shit...i didn´t invite her to a date. So i spend the second time thinking about her all the day and then came the moment i saw

her walking down a ramp and i were following her pretending to meet her accidently.

Lucia: He was charming and asked me to go to cinema. I said yeah why not and so we met the other day and had also dinner afterwards. I was really ner-vous cause i wasn´t used to go out with boys. I was only 16.

Okay and when you had your first kiss?

Joe: Right there!

So on this night, going to cinema and afterwards at the dinner place?

Lucia: Yes. We start to go out after four days we saw each other for the first time! Like girlfriend-boyfriend!

Joe: Yes.

Lucia: Yes. So it was pretty fast!

And since that you have been to-gether till now?

Lucia: Yes, pretty much!Joe: Kind of yes.

Kind of means...

Joe: We know each other for four years now but i went back after this exchange to New Zealand and Lucia stayed in Argentinia...we spoke at least once a week...so it wasn´t a daily relationship anymore...it was something different...

Lucia: Yes, i had to finish Highschool but after finishing i went to New Zea-land...

...but how long was this time that you didn´t see each other?

Joe: The first time it was ten months...and Lucia was visiting me for three months...just for the schoolsummer...It was fun..we travelled a lot.

Lucia: Yes! But nevertheless i went back to Argentinia to finish Highshool...my last year...and the day after the last day of beeing a pupil and went the second time to New Zealand...and just to stay there for a year..for see how it is.

So at this time you started a daily life realationship, okay. And what happend then? I know that you have been also in Australia before coming to Spain...

Joe: I was in the last year of studys and after finishing it was the question what to do...there have been lots of different possibilities..lots of options...in the end we decided coming to spain...but we needed some money so....we went to Australia...cause you can get earn really fast some money.

Lucia: It was really exciting...a mix of working but also holidays...a nice time.

What´s about the communication? There have ever been any difficulties

with language? Do you start your realtionship in spanish? Or do you spoke english?

Joe: It was funny cause in the beginning i wasn´t speaking any spanish...but i wanted to talk with Lucia obviously...

Lucia: And me wasn´t speaking so much english...so it was a kind of bodylangu-age.

So you tried to speak english in the be-ginning...but what´s about the com-munication then...it was much with gesticulations?

Lucia: Yeah...somehow...but it was re-ally fun..

Joe: We didn´t care so much...it was a fun thing...

But there were never difficulties...when some of you wanted to say so-mething maybe more special but you couldn´t...

Lucia: In the really beginning we were pupils so we spoke nothing serious...we were without responsibilities.

Joe: Yeah..but sometimes when i wanted to spoke something i felt really strongly about i said it in english...and Lucia was like nodding her head and saying yes but...you know...visa versa the same...when she wanted to spoke about some-thing more serious...i was like nodding my head and saying: yes, allright, yes, i understand...

Lucia laughing: yes thats right...i was always thinking...i have no idea what you are talking about... .

And during the period where you have been in New Zealand and Lucia staying in Argentinia...you said that you spoke once a week...was it in spa-nish or english?

Joe: In this year in Argentinia i got re-ally into spanish so we always were speaking spanish then...till Lucia came

Lucia: The second time after finishing highshool i wanted to stay longer so i really decided to learn english...and Joe was helping me of course...but we really forced each other to speak in english cause it was always really easy to speak in spanish.

So what´s about now? I know...you around this flat where we are living together i recognized you speak so-metimes spanish but sometimes eng-lish...so why?...Just a kiding thing?

Lucia laughing: Yes, it is important for us to speak both languages...and to speak both languages well aswell... .

hard...or it doesn´t exist?

Lucia&Joe laughing: No there were no bad moments!

Lucia: For me...you know..the big mo-ment where we almost broke up...okay we never got really to that but the most difficult time was when i went to New Zealand...i had no idea of anything...no feeling for responsibilities...and it was like...yes 24 h per day together... .

Joe: Yes it was hard. It was sometimes that we really hated each other with big arguments...you know...no escaping...we came from different places, we came from different backgrounds, different mindsets...

And what´s about when you having the feel to really speak seriuos with each other?

Joe: It used to be spanish... .

Lucia: Yes, but i guess we have so-metimes also deep conversations in english...i would say now it doesn´t matter.

Joe: But naturally when you wanted to say something special you think before and it happens for me in english. Obvi-ously...

Allright. So another question: You can remember your baddest mo-ment together? Or when it was really

Lucia: In Australia!Joe: And New Zealand!Lucia: Yes...New Zealand aswell.Joe: And Argentinia!

Lucia: Yes that´s right! In Argentinia we used to go to a river cause it was not allowed to go out of the city and that river was outside...it was pretty funny coming back home...pretenting nothing happend...but beeing really sunburned and full of sand...escaping from my mum and stuff... .

So you had a lot of beautiful mo-ments...in New Zealand, Australia and also Argentinia..Okay..one thing i wanted to know...so Lucia...what do you like the most of Joe?
