Looking for eric

A film normally has several posters because it will try to communicate the film in different ways. Another reason why there might have several posters is to attract a wider range of audience, an example would be the film ‘Looking for Eric’ which produced more than 7 posters this is a very smart marketing technique as the film is being shown to the second and tertiary audience.

• This poster is mainly aimed at the football fans. The film wanted to attract football fans by having the trumpet and also having one of the characters cheering on in the poster.

• This poster was used to attract some other audiences and this one may appeal to woman as they tried to show the romantic side of the film by having a woman on the poster which will intrigue the audience and also by having flowers there it shows a sense of romance.

• This poster was there to draw out the family audience. The film used most of the actors here to make it seem like a friendly environment, this could appeal to families and they could all go together as a whole to watch this film.
