○ Provide training on technology tools which are unfamiliar to staff such as: Flipgrid, Google Classroom and Google Meet provided on March 16th during the Staff Wide In-Service

○ Training provided by the IT and Curriculum departments during PLC Meetings on March 11th and 12th in Room 260

● Distribute (Remote) Learning Doctrine to all staff members to ensure consistency across the district: Sent March 13th

Phase 3: Week of March 16th ● In-service day scheduled for teachers on March 16th to train and prepare for

Remote Instruction. Training took place via Google Meet with teachers spread throughout the building and some working from home.

● After training the teachers, they will implement a trial lesson to push out to students to attempt to complete and troubleshoot any issues: Students can do the trial run on Tuesday, March 17th and work remotely from home

● The IT department will be available to assist students, parents, and teachers with any issues: Provided on March 16th

Phase 4: See Above Link to Remote Learning Doctrine for More Specificity

● Upon the decision to close, teachers, including special education teachers, will ensure that all students have the necessary materials to use at home. This can include workbooks, leveled reading texts, online curriculum program access, username and password credentials and instructions for parents/guardians.

○ The Following Programs and Resources will be used: ■ i-Ready ■ ST Math ■ EnVisions ■ Big Ideas ■ Stemscopes ■ HMH Science ■ Teach TCI Social Studies ■ NewsELA ■ Khan Academy ■ Edulastic ■ Reflex Math ■ Epic

○ Teachers will utilize the following platforms for instruction:

** Special Education teachers will modify any and all assignments according to the students’ IEPs. (See Accommodations Below) In anticipation of a possible school closing, students were instructed to bring home on Friday, March 13th, several texts which will definitely be used, when and if schools are closed. Phase 5: March 16th

● Counselors will be asked to check in with students on a regular basis throughout the length of time that students are at home.

● Nurses will be asked to keep track of the health issues parents share regarding students during the time students are at home

Phase 6:

● Superintendent extends school closure indefinitely based on the Governor’s Executive Order - March 24th

● Prek, K, 1 Teachers and Aides work with principal to create long term plans ○ March 30th: Prek, K and 1st Grade Teachers and Aides were permitted

into the building to gather necessary materials for students ○ March 31st: Additional materials were distributed to families of students in

grades Prek, K and 1 through a drive through process ○ March 31st and April 1st: Nurses were available to distribute medications

to families of students who had these medications in the nurse’s office ● Re-Evaluate Meal Distribution based on NJDOE Guidelines

Phase 7:

● March 27, 2020 Email addresses became available for student use in Grades 6-8 ● April 7, 2020 Chromebooks were distributed to all interested families in Grades

2-8 using a drive through process ● April 7, 2020 Live Virtual Google Meet sessions became an available option for

interested teachers. Teachers and parents were provided with the following Norms for Live Google Meet Sessions

● Administration worked together to develop incentives for students to complete work as well as Spirit Days for Online Learning

Phase 8: ● April 15, 2020 All Aides were provided online training videos to support them in

their roles ● April 15th and 17th: Teachers in the elementary and middle school were

permitted to enter the building in order to obtain necessary teaching materials through an approval process with their principals

● April 14, 2020 Email addresses became available for student use in Grades 4 and 5

Accommodations for students receiving Special Education, Basic Skills, Counseling and ELL Services:

● Students receiving special education services in a self-contained setting will be

provided modifications, by their Special Education Teacher, to the general education curriculum according to their IEPs.

● Additional resources/programs for certain special education students will be uploaded by their special education teacher and include:

○ Readtopia ○ Reflex Math ○ Phonics First ○ RAZ Kids

● For students receiving Related Services, the following options will be implemented:

○ Calendar assignments and packets for speech practice provided through a Speech and OT virtual learning website specifically designed for students receiving these services.

○ OT and PT practice through the use of informational packets sent home with students

○ Upon re-entry to school, students will be provided their related services based on their IEP. Goals will be revisited to determine the need for additional service time.

○ Teletherapy started with students on April 6th ● The school social worker and the school psychologist will check in on students

receiving counseling as well as discuss with parents ways to maintain routines and continue calming/coping techniques used in school.

● All meetings including re-evaluations, initial evaluations, annual reviews, High School transition meetings and early intervention transition meetings will be rescheduled as soon as school resumes full operation. Rescheduled meetings will be prioritized according to the following schedule:

○ Early Intervention ○ High School Eligibility and Transition ○ Students aging out ○ Students receiving instruction within the K-12 system

● The child study team developed a letter for parents about possible delays regarding previously scheduled meetings, upcoming meetings, and evaluation processes.

● Communication with Parents and Out of District Students/Families: ○ All communication with non-english speaking parents will be provided via

translation services through language-specific translated school messenger documents or direct contact via a translator.

○ There is one medically fragile student in the district who is educated in an out of district placement. That family was contacted via a translator and reports no necessary support needed.

● Communication with out-of-district schools (6 total) will be through direct contact via phone or email with established contacts to determine school closing and re-opening information. Transportation pertaining to students attending out-of-district schools will continue if the sending district is open. Bus companies will communicate with the district transportation coordinator.

● Communication with families and counselors will continue as needed. Specifics can be accessed here

Food Service Plan for Free & Reduced Meal program

● Food Service Director will order the shelf-stable items ahead of time and have

them on hand if needed. ● In the event that the district closes schools, the Food Service Director and

several of her employees will come in on the day the closure is announced and prepare a weeks’ worth of breakfast and lunch and pack in bags.

○ In the event some employees are not able to come in to help, we may need assistance from the administration.

● In preparation for meal pick-up and delivery, the district is sending out a survey (on March 13th) to Free & Reduced Meal families to determine who is interested in participating in the meal program during the school closure period

● Agreement #: 01502750 ● Date Meal Distribution will begin: March 17, 2020 ● Date Meal Distribution will end: When remote learning ends ● Schools/Site where distribution of meals will take place: Logan Elementary/Logan

Middle School ● Meals to be claimed for reimbursement per day: Each pick up day, families will

receive shelf stable meals for 5 days. ● Claiming Procedures: The parents of district students who receive free or

reduced meals will come to Logan Elementary/Middle School to pick up the bag (for the week) between 10:00am and Noon on the designated day.

○ The students do not need to be present. ○ The students must be a registered students in Logan Twp who qualifies

for a free or reduced meal ○ The person picking up the meals will have to sign for them

● Include how all food safety requirements will be met: All foods provided are shelf-stable foods

Plan for Facilities

● In the event of a building or district shutdown, the custodial staff would be called in to disinfect the entire building. This would include all flat surfaces and seating in classrooms, offices and common areas. Additionally, athletic equipment, lockers and electronic devices would also be wiped down with disinfecting wipes.

● Restrooms would be disinfected from ceiling to floor using the Kaivac system and Virex II 256.

● Logan maintains an ample inventory of disinfecting agents, so that we could implement this plan at a moment's notice and have sufficient supplies to disinfect the entire district.

● According to the Governor’s Executive order 107 & 108, the district will allow outside vendors to come into the buildings for routine maintenance and projects

Essential Personnel who might be asked to come in at various times:

● No Essential Personnel will be asked to come into the building for large group

meetings. All staff in the building will be working at a safe distance from one another and using established Best Practices. Any essential personnel would only be asked to come into the building for a specific task , only if needed.

● As of Wednesday, March 18th, the only essential personnel in the building are Custodians completing Deep Cleaning and the Business Administrator completing the Budget

● Essential Employee Spreadsheet Administration - all working from home on a daily basis: Google Meet meeting held on Mondays and Thursdays at Noon

○ Superintendent ○ 3 Building Principals ○ 1 Child Study Team Supervisor ○ 1 Curriculum Supervisor

IT Department Personnel - available from home to address all IT-related issues for both staff and parents

○ 1 Tech Coach ○ 2 Tech Specialists

Food Service Staff -prepare shelf-stable breakfast and lunches for our F & R students on Mondays; distribute at two sites on Tuesdays

○ Food Service Manager and 7 Food Service Workers Business Office Staff - Payroll and Paying of BIlls

○ 1 Business Administrator - all usual responsibilities with addition of overseeing the meals distribution

○ 2 Business Office Secretaries/ 1 Administrative Assistant - working from home; available to come to district office, as needed to pay bills and complete payroll activities

Secretaries ● 4 working from home ● 1 District Administrative Assistant (AA) - are working from home but AA comes in

to office, as necessary Custodians and Maintenance Workers

○ 2 Maintenance workers are practicing social distancing as they are completing their tasks both inside and outside of building

○ maximum number of 13 Aramark-contracted custodians are also practicing social distancing while they are involved in deep cleaning of all areas of school buildings; Aramark is encouraging people to use PTO.

Counselors ○ 4 School Counselors - working from home; keeping in regular communication

with school principal Nurses
