Hello From John! Hello everyone and Happy New Year!
We had a real rough time this past year of 2012,but we are getting it back in place. I would like to thank everyone who helped and participated in our New Year’s Party: The Band Was Seventh Switch with D.J Marco Flores, Bartender - Jeanine, Larry and Terri B., Cameron and Donna, Betty, Rhonda (who cooked the prime rib), Penny Bradley, Lisa Flores (who made some gift baskets), Roger and Marimichael (who took care of the Social Quarters) and Shelly. If I forgot anyone, Thank You As Well! As you all know, elections are around the corner. You will be voting for a new Governor and Board of Officers for the Palmdale Lodge #507..please get involved and VOTE! BIG REMINDER - This Lodge belongs to all of us and we need to control the non-members who frequently visit our Social Quarters. It is every member’s responsibility to assist and to ask to see membership cards. It is important to communicate with the bartender if you do not recognize anyone or know if they have been here more than 3 times. Don’t’ feel afraid to approach with an application for membership...be proud to be Moose. Well hope to see you all soon.

DESERT LAWN MEMORIAL PARK 2200 East Ave. S, Palmdale
Office (661) 947-7177
Desert Lawn Memorial Park is family owned and operated since 1977, offering options for casket or
remains burial. Each day grieving family members are faced with difficult decisions which must be made
quickly, under emotional duress and often with financial hardship. Our goal is to assist you in making these
decisions for yourself and loved ones not only at the time of need but before the need arises. Before need, purchase agreements can be written to fit your needs and budget, minimizing the emotional and financial strains that will be placed on loved ones later. Give us a call or stop by
our office; our caring staff is here to assist.

New Year’s Party: A Big Success! Thanks to all the Volunteers!
I would personally like to thank several people for their dedicated and continued voluntary
service to our Moose Lodge. These people very seldom get the credit they deserve. This last New Year’s Eve party was no exception. The kitchen crew, which I was involved with, did an outstanding job! We served over 100 dinners! In addition to cooking, serving, bussing and cleaning up, there are many hours spent planning for this kind of event. We had a great crew! The people involved include:
Rhonda Kenzer – Chief cook Donna Mac Nair – Food shopping, bussing, working the salad bar Betty House – Prep work Maureen Peters – Serving Toray Smith – Serving Penny Bradley – Dessert bussing Roger Tompkins – What an asset! He was bussing, dish washing, anything asked! Chelsea – Another volunteer coming in just to help! Ricky – Not even a member but came in to help wash dishes! Especially my wife Terri – Cooking, serving, coordinating, buying Thanks also to people that worked on decorating the hall, karaoke and all the hard work
with putting this event on. It was a huge success! They include, among others: John Garcia, John Hartman, Maureen Peters, Fred Lovio, Cameron and Donna
Mac Nair, Toray Smith, Lenora Scott, Penny Bradley, Trish Bogna, Regina Gibson, Marco and Lisa Flores, Michelle Matson, Anthony Garcia and James Lopez
In addition I would also like to thank our Sunday breakfast staff. They put many hours in to
provide us with an inexpensive, delicious breakfast. Please tell them thanks for doing a great job. They include:
Ron Poplawski and Genise Gonzalez, Cameron and Donna Mac Nair and Pat Vilas If you see any of these people you owe them a debt of gratitude. These are the people
keeping this Lodge going. I’m sure I missed some people and I apologize. You know who you are and you should give yourselves a pat on the back. And don’t forget our Governor John Garcia, and Marimichael and her staff for the numerous hours they put in and their dedication.
Thanks, again. A concerned member, Larry Butgereit
