I will have to spend most of my money on travel. Seeing as I’m going to be travelling to Oxford a few times every month the travel costs for a return will be quite high. Everything else is reasonable price and camera and tripods will be lent out by the Henley College.

A production time line (dates of filming, interviews, cut away)

As I have other personal commitments I have had to postpone my filming for this project. I’m at full time education and cannot leave classes to film for my social action video. I also work on the weekends so I have dedicated November to get most of my filming done. The final deadline for this project is the first week of December so I have to allow myself time to edit and complete any post production work, if needed.

During the length of my social action video I will be visiting various sites for different purposes.

1) Henley on Thames police station (interview) it’s local and I will be able to find out information.

2) Henley town centre (several interviews and opinions) I will be able to gain peoples personal views on drugs.

3) The Henley skate park (more interviews) I will be able to ask people who have experienced drug taking and what drugs is like when you’re a student. / How to avoid drugs. Will look into peer pressure.

4) Abingdon ‘young addict’s support’ hopefully I will interview the workers as well as people who have dealt with drug abusers and volunteers.

5) The Henley College. (Interviews) This footage will be shown throughout my video showing facts and statistics as well as interviews and their r point of views on drugs. I will also try and find out what support is given at the Henley College to anyone who does need advice and support on this problem.

6) Oxford centre – for more interviews and extra footage.

Copyright (If you are using other footage or music you must make sure you are allowedI will be using archive footage from ‘YouTube’ of a drug advertisementI will be using copyright free music for my video or produce the music myself through Cubase using SFX and Reason.

A list of questions I need answered

Henley policeWhat’s the worst case you’ve dealt with involving drugs? How do you deal with someone who is caught with drugs on them?Do you think young addiction is something people need to be educated more about? What are your views on young addiction in south Oxfordshire? What do you think should happen to prevent people from using drugs? What’s a bigger issue in Oxford, drugs or alcohol? How do you approach someone who is underage drinking and what are the consequences? How does drug usage affect the local community? How could you help someone who is suffering from drugs/ alcohol troubles?

Volunteer / member of staffWhat exactly do you do to help people who have young addiction troubles? Why did you choose to be a volunteer? What does your job consist of?What care/ professional help do you provide?

Someone who attends ‘young addicts’ in OxfordsHow were drugs a coping mechanism for you?How old were you when you first started doing drugs? What influenced you into taking drugs? What effects did the drugs have on your personal life and life at home with family? When did you realise enough was enough? What was the first step into quitting? How has ‘Young addicts’ helped you and what benefits have you received from the treatment? What advice would you give to a young person who could take drugs in the near future?

Audience research Oblivion of youth

What the company does for the community (aim)

Young Addiction is the drug and alcohol treatment service for young people in Oxfordshire. Young Addiction provides a confidential service for young people needing information, advice, support or treatment. Young Addiction also offers support and advice to young people affected by other people's drug and alcohol use.I aim to focus my social action video on why people turn to drugs and how it affects families as well as the community. I want to raise awareness more than anything so people who watch my video will think twice before involving themselves in any situation with drugs. From my secondary research I have found out that there is currently no social action video for young addicts. I want to include in my video various interviews from different members of staff as well as people dealing with addiction issues. I want to inform my audience as well as entertain. I believe that people learn more from hearing and seeing things for themselves rather than be told facts and statistics.

My target audience is directed at 15– 30 yr. olds. I have purposely designed my target audience with such a wide age gap because I want my video to be visible to people who use social networking most.

Secondary research has shown that most internet users are around the age of 12 – 39. Seeing as my video will be shown on the internet, it’s more likely people between the age range will view my video to others who are older/ younger. I also think that if twelve year olds were to see my video they would have a better insight on the matter rather than learning about it later or even being involved with it later in life.

WAHOO OxfordAre there a lot of problems with drugs and alcohol at your club? How do you deal with someone who has consumed more alcohol than they should have? How do you deal with someone who hasn’t brought their ID with them?Has there ever been any drug used use not only in your club but in Oxford itself?Do you think the drinking age should be hired or lowered?
