the need of oral communication. Steve 5arrell delivers his character in a hilarious yet intellectual *ay& his run for his eample is

not only funny but seems to be /uietly studied to perfection. 8t is not )ust a silly sped up *al%, it is an authentic epression of

character. Fran%'s Jealousy of a fello* ?roust Scholar *ho *on a genius grant on top of stealing Fran%'s boyfriend and D*ayne's

redemption to*ards society compliment each other in a very original )utaposition of emotions. 0his uni/ue bond is *hat enables

the development of these ! characters and ma%e them reali2e that the ans*ers to their problems *ere right in their heads, they )ust

needed to be brought out. 0hey *ere li%e a vessel to each other through *hich these ans*ers could be carried out. 8n Fran%'s case1

it is suffering that ma%es you *ho you are. 8n D*ayne's case1 there is no need to let society bend and hinder you.?aul Dano and Steve 5arrell's great chemistry enables the audience to en)oy this serious issue in a very comical *ay *hile still

understanding the message that the director is trying to put across and in addition, this little subplot is a great *ay to add richness and

teture to the main plot of the film.
