Topic : Keep It Short

Objective : At the end of the lesson students should be able to:

1. Understand the form of contractions

Activities :

1. Teacher lists down some phrases like ‘I am’, ‘He is’, etc., on the whiteboard. Students do say-spell-say.

2. Teacher explains how the phrases changed to into contractions.3. Students do some practices to change the phrases into contractions.4. Students write notes.5. Students do exercises.

Topic : Much and Many (Uncountable nouns)


1. Know the usage of words ‘many’ and ‘much’.

Activities :

1. Teacher asks students: Can we count grass or sand? And how to count them? Students answer. Teacher relates the answers with the topic of the lesson.

2. Teacher lists down some things on the whiteboard. Students do say-spell-say. Teacher explains how to count thing that cannot be counted and can be counted. Teacher gives and shows some examples.

3. Oral/aural.4. Students do some exercises.5. Teacher asks students what they have learnt today.

Topic : Safe Living – A safe environment for all

Objectives : At the end of the lesson students should be able to:-

1. Give reasons to support ideas and suggestions.2. Answer questions correctly at least 6 out of 8.

Activities :

1. Teacher asks students to look a drawing picture and asks them to give their opinions on it. Students give their opinions.

2. Students are given an example of a housing area near to the school. The students will give their opinion if the housing area is safe to live in or not. They are asked to give their opinions why they say it safe or not.

3. Students read a dialogue about the campaign to raise awareness of safety for school children.

4. Oral/aural.5. Students read silently and aloud Raju’s eight rules for safety.6. Students do exercises.

1. Know the opposite meaning of the words when add prefixes ‘un’, ‘dis’, ‘in’ and ‘im’.2. Answer questions correctly at least seven out of ten.

Activities :

1. Teacher shows a thing like a short ruler and asks students: What is this? And shows a long ruler and asks again. Teacher asks students: What is the different of the two rulers? Teacher relates the answer with the topic of the lesson.

2. Teacher lists down some words on the whiteboard. She asks students to opposite meaning of the words. She explains that they are going to learn some words that have the opposite meaning when add prefixes like ‘un’, ‘dis’, ‘un’, and ‘im’.

1. Teacher asks students a few questions: Do you have many friends? Who are they? Do you and your friends enjoy doing the same things? Can you have friends who do not have the same interests as you? Why? Teacher tells the topic of the lesson.

2. Students read about qualities people look for in a friend silently and aloud. 3. Students exchange their opinions with their classmates. They may use the example

sentences given to begin.4. Students write a short paragraph about their friends.
