Ledbury Community Brass Band was formed in 2010 by a group of local brass players,

teachers, and community members with the aim of providing Ledbury with a brass band to

provide entertainment, and to support events in the town and surrounding area. Our Musical

Director, Colin Herbert, who has a long history of brass bands, took over the role in October

2015, since then the band has gone from strength to strength.

The band aims to provide brass players of all ages with an opportunity to come together to

practise, encourage development and have fun with music, and now attracts players from

Leominster, Hereford, Gloucester, Worcestershire, Ross-on-Wye and further afield, together

with the many players from the town itself.

Ledbury Community Brass Band strives to foster community spirit and civic pride, and hopes to encourage

musical appreciation through public performances and concerts. 2016 saw and heard the band playing at the

Ledbury Carnival for the first time. During the Carnival the Band will be playing a variety of music together

with an opportunity for members of the public to meet with the band.

The band is pleased to be part of Ledbury Carnival and is proud to be able play at Ledbury’s Civic Services,

Christmas Concert, Christmas Lights Switch-on and Remembrance Sunday.

Come and listen to the band play at the Market Theatre, Ledbury on Saturday 23rd September 2017 for Last

Night of the Proms featuring all the traditional flag-waving tunes from the Albert Hall, as well as favourites

from the brass band repertoire.

If you wish to join the band, or to have us play at an event, or just to let us know how much you appreciate

our efforts, please feel free to send an email to [email protected]
