Invitation to attend

This year is noteworthy, marking the beginning of the World Health Organisation’s Decade of Healthy Ageing 2020-2030, which puts a clear focus on the rights of older people to access quality care, and an onus on world governments to support a lifetime of healthy ageing.

While we await the outcomes of the Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety, and subsequent legislative changes that will impact our industry in Australia, it is our responsibility to show leadership—now.

The Royal Commission’s Interim Report has drawn a line in the sand for our industry and sets out a pathway for fundamental redesign.

We all have an opportunity to influence how ageing well will look today, and into the future. It is through our initiatives, programs, innovations and inspirations, that we will be able to collectively shift the mindset of the Australian community—to one that values the rights and dignity of older people.

This conference will give us all an opportunity to evaluate our role in ageing well, and to consider how we can drive the transformation of age services.

Our line-up of talented innovators, thought-leaders and expert managers will give you valuable insight to help you enact positive change.

The information presented at our plenary sessions and workshops will equip you with real-world, best-practice operational solutions. Our conferences are also a great opportunity for providers, staff and suppliers to exchange ideas and learn about new products and services that will enhance your business operations.

Join us on the Gold Coast from 1 – 2 April 2020.

Conference ThemeAgeing Well...from Policy to Practice. Last year saw our industry commence the transition to the new aged care quality standard, supported by the strong voice and helping hand of Leading Age Services Australia (LASA).

With an innovative and solution focus, we worked together to prepare the sector to develop, create and reimagine services that would add real value to the wellbeing of ageing Australians, and the growth of our industry.

We find ourselves at the beginning of a decade of delivery, where our policy preparation is set to be realised through the implementation of action-oriented practices that meet and exceed the quality standard requirements and address the Royal Commission findings.

With this in mind, LASA has purposefully designed our 2020 State Conferences to assist and guide you in meeting the complexities of policy reform through the delivery of practical, experiential/evidence-based and best practice service delivery outcomes.

With programs covering topics from adapting to the new legal frameworks and the adoption of consumer driven care, through to building the workforce of the future and becoming audit ready, LASA’s 2020 State Conferences will equip you with real-world, best practice, operational solutions that will ensure ageing well is the reality for you, your organisation and all Australians.

You are invited to attend Leading Age Services Australia’s Queensland State Conference 2020, Ageing Well – from Policy to Practice on the beautiful Gold Coast.
