Everyone will feel differently about the process of Action Research as LT we need to meet every teachers needs and feelings about this process.

Tuning inWrite down the things you feel confident about as a Lead Teacher this year, also write any concerns, worries you have about your role in facilitating the teachers at your

school through the action research process.

Finding outQuestioning Activity  What do you think will be the barriers to Action Research in your school? 

What are the phrases you are likely to hear from some teachers? Write these phrases in the Chatter boxes. 

Sorting outFind a partner.

Use the T chart to sort your phrases into categories.

Discuss what you think teachers might really mean/ feel behind these phrases and statements.

With your partner write beside each category brainstorm ways that you could positively respond to these comments. How could you deal with this as a Lead Teacher?

Think back to your concerns, research ways to solve/ deal with this concern.

You can use people resources, team up with another Lead Teacher and introduce together or book in time with Disa to come to help you introduce Action Research with your staff.

This is your time to do what ever is useful for you while you have each other as a resource.

Drawing ConclusionFeedback on your independent research, what have you found, learnt, thought about or done that might help other Lead Teachers now or later on in the year.

Reflection/ ActionOpen your Tuning in activity and fill in the reflection side. Reflect on how you feel now about your concerns.

What will we have done by next Lead Teacher day? What is reasonable to expect from all schools?
