Almost 100 years later, in 1875, Churchill Downs officially opened its gates in Louisville, and began its tradition as “Home of the Kentucky Derby” and the longest continual- ly running sporting event in America. Churchill Downs Racetrack conducts Thoroughbred horse racing in Louisville, Kentucky during three race meets in the Spring, September, and the Fall. The racetrack occupies 147 acres, featuring a one-mile dirt, oval racetrack and a seven furlong turf race course. Thoroughbred racing, the Kentucky Derby, and the Kentucky Oaks have run continuous- ly at Churchill Downs Racetrack since 1875. In addition, Churchill Downs Racetrack has hosted the Breeders’ Cup World Championship eight times. Over the course of three centuries, the track has completed several massive renovation projects to modernize its venerable grandstand and clubhouse and to accommodate its more than 165,000 guests on Kentucky Derby Day. Stevenson commented, “Randy keeps his production level high and is eager to help the shipping department with the preassembly of complex jobs.” Green commented, “Randy is always willing to fill in where needed and has a positive attitude throughout the day.” Carter has been with Thermo-Kool since June, 2008.

Justin Pugh was selected Employee of the Month for April, 2016. Pugh was nominated by Thermo-Kool Administrative Resource Manager, Melanie Roney and Accounting Manager, Paul Moss. Roney commented, “Justin is an exemplary employee on a consistent basis. Not only does he perform all of his tasks well, but he does so with an unfailing positive attitude. Justin takes ownership of all that he is responsible for and is always eager and willing to learn new duties. He is a very reliable and dependable employee and always shows the utmost respect to his superiors as well as his peers” Moss added, “Justin is an unselfish team player who takes pride in his work. He demonstrates an eagerness for his job by being the first to arrive each morning. He is a very respectful and professional young man who wants to get the job done right the first time.” Pugh has been with Thermo-Kool since March, 2014.
