“My worst day clean is better
than my best day using,” ex-
claims Suzanne, as she shares
the details of her past use of
drugs and other substance
abuse. “I was on medication
constantly to deal with the side effects and was a
chronic pain patient for 35 years. I was sick and
tired of being sick and tired. With the support of
Catholic Family Services, I was able to finally
kick the habit.” The Closed Trauma and Sister
mentoring program were crucial to helping Su-
zanne get her life back on track. The positive
influence of CFS sistering program supervisor
Valerie Anderson and encouragement from other
professional staff gave Suzanne the courage to
try again. She sheds „tears of joy‟ as she now
speaks on behalf of CFS, sharing the detailed
differences Catholic Family Services has made
in her life. Over 77,000 individuals received help
in getting their lives back on track through
ShareLife-supported family services programs.

Questions for Reflection:
Has Christ ever been a stum-
bling block for you in your
faith journey?
What do you do when you
see neglected people?
Fifth Sunday of Easter
We need to know Jesus the Truth and walk in Jesus the Way: Jesus asked Phil-
ip: “Have I been with you all this time and you still do not know Me?” He is asking us
the same question: “Have I been with you all this time – in the Mass, in the sacra-
ments, in the Bible in the worshipping community – and you still do not know Me?” If
we really believe that Jesus is the Way and the Truth and the Life, then we will find
fresh and creative ways to keep alive his memory.
Victoria Day Monday May 19th
Mass will be at 9:00am

Pre-Authorized Giving How Do I Enroll? Fill out the

Reflecting on our
Pastoral Plan The Archdiocese of Toronto is one of
the most culturally diverse dioceses in
the world, with Mass celebrated in more
than 30 languages each week. This di-
versity is one of our greatest gifts and
will be nurtured lovingly and responsi-
bly. Parishes with a cultural history
serve as a spiritual home and a gather-
ing of family members who share a
common culture, language and tradi-
tion. We must draw on the richness of
this diversity while challenging one an-
other to consider how we can best con-
nect with the body of Christ beyond our
parish boundaries. We will work to
maintain a deep connection to the local
church, while encouraging our cultural-
ly diverse parishes to share their suc-
cessful models of collaboration, wor-
ship and outreach with friends across
the Archdiocese. To learn more about
the Pastoral Plan, visit
