Smart Charge project
• Vehicle to Grid (V2G)– Technology for the idea of how electric vehicles can be used as a buffer for
electricity on the power grid• Project objective:
– The objective is to produce new insight on economic and technical vehicle-to-grid/building (V2G) opportunities and challenges through the pilot cases
– The main goal is to determine how V2G could be implemented for electric vehicles under arctic conditions
• To increase the utilization of distributed, renewable energy resources and to enable increased energy flexibility.
• The impact on the design of vehicles and the services they support will be investigated.

Currently under construction
• V2G Pilot in Lehtojärvi– Real-time electricity measurement and visualisation system
• Will gather electricity usage and generation data from buildings, solar panels, EVsand chargers.
• Done:– Measurement system design– Acquisitions for most of the data gathering equipment
• To be done:– Choosing the energy meters– Installing the instrumentation– Programming– User interface

What has been done
• Charger acquisitions– Venematech V2G Charger
• Based on ISO15118-20 (to be released 2021 Q3-Q4)• Purchased
– Will arrive around the start of December
– EVSE (Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment) with LIN-CP• Type 2 AC charger prototype• To be ordered
– Chargers will be tested using Aurora Powertrain’s eSled
