When you click on a pay-per-click ad it is natural that you are taken to another page right? The page where you are taken to is called the landing page. On the marketing side of things, a landing page can be defined as a specialized page that guests are directed once they click on a link.

A landing page is focused on getting prospects to purchase a specific product or service. In some cases, the landing page convinces the prospect to take some sort of action that will eventually lead to a sale.

If you were in the process of creating a landing page then it would be in your best interest to answer a few questions first to come up with an effective landing page. Your landing page should be able to answer the following questions:

What exactly are you marketing in your landing page?Who do you wish to appeal to?Why should they be interested in what you are offering? What are the necessary steps to be able to procure the items or services you are offering?

Your landing page should appear like a summation of all the usual pages that are related to the products or services you are offering. Keep in mind that the goal of the landing page you are going to create is to convert possible customers “quickly”, or to make them take some sort of action hurriedly so you can follow up with them later.

Strategic Placement of Call to Action

It is a good idea that you include a call to action on the beginning and end of your landing page. Yes, you read that right you also need a call to action on the top of your landing page.  Reason? Some people are already familiar with the products or services you are offering so there is no need for them to read everything. The call to action at the beginning is for those familiar with your business already and for the others, what you can do is scatter your call to action to the rest of your landing page.

Strategic Placement of Call to Action

Online marketing experts advise that your call to action should be spread-out throughout the rest of the content as different people have different tipping points in the sales process. Before I forget be sure that you link the call to action to the order page or subscription form.

Short and simple announcements

If your landing page is focused enough on whatever it is, you are offering then long statements are not needed anymore, just keep it short and simple.

Your announcements should be short or better yet bullet-points, but is should present valuable information that are easy to understand and digest. Be sure to open a channel of communication between you and your prospects in case there are any inquiries.

Length of your page

When it comes to this particular tip, there is really no rule. There is really no prescribed length when it comes to your landing page. In my opinion the more costly an item is, or the more unique it is, the more content will be needed in order to persuade your prospects to purchase or explore the possibility of purchasing further.

The longer your landing page is the more you need to scatter your call to action all over the landing page.

Present prospects with bonus

It really does not matter if your prospects do not purchase the main product you are offering right away, by offering a report as your freebie that of course requires their email address in order for them to download, it gives you a chance to follow-up with them in the near future. A good example would be a free newsletter subscription that will allow you to build relationships with your prospects.

Every consumer out there loves a freebie, of course who wouldn’t? And throwing in a freebie on your landing page is a sure fire way to make it effective.

Usage of relevant pictures

According to numerous researches that has been done a person’s eye is always first drawn to images on the page. If you want to have an effective landing page then include images (small files) to your page to make it interesting. Before I forget make sure that the images you will include are highly relevant to the products or services you are offering.
