Special Education

● Special Education Services in the brick and mortar setting will be delivered as

per IEPs, with some changes. All changes will be communicated to families. ○ Pull out groups will meet. An effort will be made to keep groups from the same classroom, and

when that is not possible, seating will be arranged to separate groups.

○ Co-teaching and Structured Study Halls will occur.

○ On an individual basis, services may be changed in order to keep students in a special

education classroom for a larger portion of the school day. This is especially true for students

with sensory issues or other needs that require removal of masks for periods of time.

● Special Education services in the virtual setting will be offered synchronously,

asynchronously, and through computer aided instructional programs. ○ A para-educator and some teachers will be assigned to assist students in the virtual setting at

prearranged times.

○ Related services can continue via telehealth (speech, PT, OT).

Back to school wellness tips

1. Practice good hygiene!!

2.) Wash your face/hands with

soap & water, before & after

school.

3.) Create a “drop zone.” This is an

area of your home where you leave

items (shoes, bookbags, etc.) from

school that are difficult to clean

daily

4.) Get in the habit of changing

your clothes upon returning home

from school. Don’t lay on

furniture/bed with your soiled

school clothes.

5.) Change your mask DAILY and

launder (or discard) between use!

6.) Avoid travel and large

gatherings where masks are not

being worn.
