All proceeds from Fork it Over for Kids will go to The Salvation Army Kroc Center Scholarship Fund.

This fund eliminates the boundary between potential and opportunity and insures no family, senior or child is turned away because of inability to pay. Last year more than 2,500 scholarships were gifted for life-changing programs and services, thanks to generous donors.

If you would like to be an event sponsor, or contribute an in-kind donation, please call Fran Waller at 619.269.1408.

Dear Friends:

The vision that created this Kroc Center – the Heart of San Diego – is beginning to capture the

dreams and hopes of communities throughout the United States.

The San Francisco Kroc Center opened at the end of June, and is located in the heart of the

Tenderloin District: San Francisco’s last stop for people at the end of the road and bottom of the

ladder. But they are people – just like you and me – who need help and hope. Our heart is beating

in San Francisco.

The Atlanta Kroc Center is opening in September. Located in a blighted neighborhood of

metropolitan Atlanta, this Salvation Army center will become an oasis of education, development

and arts in a desert of misfortune. Another Doorway to Opportunity is opening in Atlanta.

The Coeur d’Alene Kroc Center is opening in April. Set in the pristine beauty of the Pacific

Northwest, and surrounded by the trappings of a strong tourist industry, this Kroc Center will

make a visible difference to the oft invisible service workers. The foundation is poured, the

exterior walls are nearing completion and you can almost hear the movement of people to and

fro throughout the campus. The vision is alive in Northern Idaho.

We gratefully enjoy the benefit of being a vision in motion. We’re not waiting for moments of

breakthrough and success, but experience them on a daily basis. What’s more, the stories of our

life together inspire others to keep going through the program planning, fund raising, contractor

meeting and business processes.

San Franciscan’s hear about the child who learned to be a Peace Builder and keep going. Atlantan’s

see our Kroc Kids perform and press on. Coeur d’Aleneians witness our swimming and reach for

the stars.

This in an extraordinary place, made up of extraordinary people who accomplish extraordinary

feats. It’s exciting to know our shared legacy has just begun...

Very truly yours.

Guys and Dolls tells the story of a group of small-time gamblers and the ladies in their lives. Nathan Detroit bets his pal, Sky Masterson, that he can’t make the next lady he sees fall in love with him, and when the next “doll” happens to be the prim and proper neighbourhood Salvationist Sarah Brown, the stage is set for an evening of high spirited entertainment, set to the toe-tapping beat of Loesser’s superlative score.

Set in Damon Runyon's mythical New York City, this oddball romantic comedy - considered by many to be the perfect musical comedy – soars with the spirit of Broadway as it introduces us to a cast of vivid characters who take us from the heart of Times Square to the cafes of Havana, Cuba, and even into the sewers of New York City. Funny and romantic, “Guys And Dolls” is ideal for audiences and performers!

Based on a story and characters by Damon RunyonMusic and Lyrics by Frank Loesser
